I'm looking at the long slots in the Rave manual where the tail servo is mounted and I'm wondering if a standard size servo would fit because I have some 8900Gs that I need to use and it may affect my decision on whether to go with the Rave or a 500 size heli.

In another recent thread though, someone that was speaking like a representative mentioned tailboom servo mounts were coming out soon? Though...they're probably for minis.

Man I wish the Rave could use standard sized servos for everything lol. THen it'd be a no-brainer for me. That's the only thing I'm really grappling with.

The Rave boom is about the same size as a TRex 450. You could rig up a standard servo on the boom using similar parts as a T-Rex 450.

In testing we did mount a 8900G in the machine. I beleive we made 4 little carbon tabs out of a broken frame that were long enough for the bigger servo and mounted it the same way the small ones are mounted. Worked like a charm.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.
