Does anyone has experience with a 500 and electrostatics?
I grounded my tail to the motor housing but don't kow if this is enough
Should I ratehr ground it to the minus pole of the lipo?

After a while the heli makes weird sounds as if the tail is wagging.

Does that come from electrostatics or does the belt get longer so that the belt jumps on the gear wheel?

I've heard about this issue. Besides grounding, the best thing to do would be to get the TT upgrade.

There are a few ways you can stop it, one is simple, get some fabric softner and mix it up with some water and spray your heli every now and then, it will stop the static build up.
Other guys with belt trouble spray them with silicone spray.
Things like the weather can play a part in how bad your problem is as well but, try th spray for a start.

Good Luck

Thanks guys.
Is a TT really so much better?

I had a TT on my Shogun 400.
That was crap, b/c if there is too much tolerance between the sets of gears, the teeth of the gear get worn off with bad consequences.

It might just be that the Shoguns is just a sh.. piece of heli.
so what is your experience with TT and T-REX

The TT on the 500 is much better. It gives a better feel with the tail as well as eliminating the static issue.

You will get a better responsive tail and if you have a wag sometimes it is just because you have a belt drive.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

All right, that all sounds like TT is THE way.
I have a metal tail belt unit (ALIGN H50073) for the belt version.

Can I keep it and just change the tail rotor shaft or do I need to swith to the completely new the tail torque tube unit (ALIGN H50117; http://www.alignrcusa.com/index.php...roducts_id=1046 ) ?

Thanks in advance

You will have to buy the whole upgrade. The belt tail case will not work. There is more difference than just the tail shaft.
