Sometimes, like if you were to pick it up with the tail pointed down or something then residual oil could run out of the muffler and all over you, your car, carpet, etc.... So you can plug it or just stuff a little paper towel in the end. You of course dont have to however another reson is that it keeps the inside of the engine sealed from the atmosphere (providing that you store it with the carb closed all the way)

Totaly agree with charge it, fuel and fly...over and over. It's a great little heli and very predictable. I still have the humm noise. I replaced my stock tail blades (holes were elongated by a couple mm) with a set of CY tailblades, but they are a little long and the rotor disk is large (think they are 92's). I have my headspeed set at 1900 and have no noise, but if I increase to 2000 rpm the noise creeps up. The other night I turned my torque tube around just to see if there is a difference. Will test in the next day or two. Let me know how the 85mm work out for you Maxx.
