Don't forget to open the fuel line up... and take the glow plug ignitor off after it starts up... it will look stupid flying around with it on there

Just fire it up and fly it man!

I ALWAYS forget to open the fuel clip.. and I get pissed off trying to start and nothing starts.. then I look down, fuel clip is shut off..

No wonder.

Hi,

I would replace the tail blades with a set of carbon fiber 85-92mm. A lot of us had the "humming issue" resolved by doing so.

Regards,
G

Set your tx stopwatch to 9 minutes. Do the same with your cell phone and also on your wrist watch. You can't imagine how many times I've ran out of fuel because I was having so much fun and didn't hear the timers going off. I'm good at dead stick autos by now

Once you learn them, your flights will magically last 20 minutes because you will do them over and over, tank after tank until you get bored of it.

Deaf,
Don't feel bad.
I bought once those stupid plugs that you put in the muffler. One weekend the heli did not start at all. I went home all upset and the day after when I was going to check what was wrong with the motor I feel something in the smoke deflector, well I do not have to tell you any more.
No more plugs

I set my timer for 10 minutes. I hear you guys on having fun and not hearing the timer because I came in and did an auto one time and checked fuel and there was none in my header, it quit 10 seconds later. I could definatly see a few deadsticks in my future. The vibe does do really nice autos though.

I did the same, bought 4 and then just couldn't start my Vigor CS. It was huffing and puffing and wheezing as I tried to start it. Nearly gave up then realised what I'd done. I've since given up putting a butt plug in my helis ar$e!!!

You're lucky! On my YS equipped birds, if I leave the plug in, they seem to start fine . . . . and then blow the plug out over the tall grass on the way to the flightline . . . .

I still use the plugs (don't want the mess in the truck) but tend to be more careful now . . .

9 minutes? I flew mines the other day and landed at 10mins with at least a 1/3 tank left. I get tired before the fuel runs out. I also had the hum too. I am now trying a set of K&Bdd 85mm. Hope they do the trick.

10min with a 1/3rd tank left? You are either running really lean or your headspeed is way low. OR BOTH. I get about 8 - 8 1/2min spinning 2000 flying 3D.

I am getting 10minutes flying in idle up with my highest headspeed setting but I dont know how high that is yet. Nowhere near 2000 though. I am also still quite rich at just over 1.5 turns on my hyper. I am hoping to get 9-10 mins minimum when whe is all dialed in. Hopefully the carbsmart does its job.

I was pretty rich, 1 1/8 turn out. I was running a 1950-2000 hs. It was amazing. I guess it just has a larger tank than other .50s.
