Hi there,

Has anyone found a better replacement for the rubber fuel tank stopper for the Tiger 50 (may be the same as the Pantera? I haven't looked).

It tears easily, and I'd rather buy a better one if there is one.

The nipple gets pretty banged up after a couple of teardowns too.

With ya there.

My buddy just asked me if I had a spare...went through 3 in "08" season.

Hey JB...what's in the works on this?

P.S. I don't evacuate the exhaust gas out of the tank after I fly.

Maybe 16 gallons this eason for me...my buddy...maybe a case.

lotta ins, lotta outs

Just ordered 3. My don't think my LHS is carrying much Tiger/Pantera stuff any more. Believe it or not I bought the Tiger from there. I was really stoked when I saw they were carrying something besides Raptors at the time (when the Tiger MK1 first came out).

add me to the list. Fuel line split in tank, and then noticed the grommet was split.

You guys know anyone who won't charge me $7 to ship a $3 part (AUD1008)?

David- Shipping
I think that a-main should be cheaper on shipping. They charged me 3.50 last week to ship a set of grips coast to coast.

I meant to do that!!!

Tiger 50 tank
Once your Tiger 50 tank gets hard and cracks, they are no more. You get to buy a new Pantera tank and with that you have to replace the tank grommets for the frame. Whole change out is about $35 bucks shipped.

The rubber stopper in the fuel tank?
I have a tiger MKI that I upgraded to MKII with no issues. Been flying without a problem. The Pantera fuel bung is flying like a champ since the first production run. This is a very weird failure that your having. If your not flying all the time like I do (every week) one might see some cracking...Then again JB has High end parts.
I could run a few tests of the rubber that is used for the grommet but JB has already done that.

JB. Should you or I write a white paper on this subject?

My name is Billm. Cough, and I'm a Heli Holic

we'll see, got another one coming, I have yet to actually fly this bird for more than 2 minutes due to fighting Thunder Tiger Redline problems during the last year or so. Finally got an OS .50 in there and things are all good (except for the fuel tank issue). Can't wait to finally get this one flying.

I think it just has a tendency to split a little upon at the lip at installation, which holds together until you take it apart the next time. I wetted the new one with a little fuel this time around--I think it will work. It's a very tight squeeze getting the rubber into the tank and you have to use your fingers to avoid damaging it. My tank itself hasn't been any trouble.

Just a side note, I replaced my fan hub with the Pantera one and finally got the runout to under 2 thousandths. I've had poor runout since I've had the heli. I haven't been able to test fly it yet, but I'm hoping it's much smoother.

Check for mold flashing at the tank opening as it can be sharp and lead to tears. I need to mention this in the next update to the manual. We've had fewer issues with the P50 tank because we were cognizant of the issue when cleaning the opening, but it can still happen.
