Can anybody share the needle settings for this engine? I have spent 9 Fuel tanks and I can’t get it working properly. I have the new carburetor.
The problem is when I start the heli to the point that it hovers the mixture is correct I can see a very good smoke coming from the muffler. But when I go further up for example go into stunt mode 1 and coming back to normal mode the engine is very lean I mean it screams like hell and the smoke doesn’t exist (indicating a lean middle spot). Then I just leave the heli on the ground for about 30 sec to relax. Then again from low position to middle I can see smoke and then coming back from stunt mode 1 the lean spot is there.
1)So can anyone share all the three needle settings before I mess with mine 3rd needle.(should I touch the 3rd needle?)
2)How many turns are for the hidden needle for 15%nitro(default setting)?
3)What should I do?
I’m 1/8 lean on the low from flush and 2 1/8 on the high from full closed on 15% CoolPower
I would appreciate if your configs are similar to mine :
Vibe50
Redline RL-53h
Redline R3 plug
Hatori 523
15%nitro CoolPower
Sea level
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for my English.

Running 20% CP, Enya #3 plug and MP5 my main is around 2 3/4 and my idle screw is 1/16th of a turn in from flush.

According to Dino the default setting for the carb is a 1mm gap between the tip of the inner hidden needle and the end of the idle mixture screw as view with the throttle barrel full open. Dino posted photos on my thread about the idle needle issues I had.

At sea level my head temp on landing after blasting around the sky was about 160F....

Engine seems very happy, plenty of smoke, good throttle response.

For me the 2 3/4 on the high and 1/16th on the low is very rich I cannot hover at this setting. Any way .Is the 1mm gap between the tip of the inner hidden needle and the end of the idle mixture screw for all Nitro’s 15%,20% and 30%?

I will also do the loctite thing with the screws. And propably use 20%Nitro just to test before i mess with the hidden needle.
