Hi. Just now got the ALIGN metal tail grips HN6103-84. A lot of side to side slop. There are some posts about thrust bearing issues and tail wag. Does this apply to these grips?? Thank you.

I had the same problem. I finally gave up on Align and got a Kasama tail rotor. Grandrc.com usually has them in stock.

guhj, you have to remove about 10 mils from each end of the shaft that the blade grip bolts into.

With a micrometer and some 220 wet or dry sandpaper, one can "lap" that 10 mils off each end.

When you are done, and bolting the grips back on, tighten the bolts just so the bearing feels a touch "rachety" and back them out so the "rachety" effect is gone. Use thread locker for sure. Use a toothpick to get the threadlocker into the bolt holes.

I had trouble with the stock plastic grips. Went with the Kasama tail blade grips without any further problems.
