I'd do this job for free. Hamilton Ilse is one of the most beautiful places in the world!

We went there for our honeymoon in '89. It made up our minds about trying to move to Australia which unfortunately was cost prohibitive at the time.

Between the beautiful beaches, sock stealing cockatoos the entire ilse was free of gas powered cars and absolutely clean.

Some of the best reef diving I've ever done as well.

Hope the link works, some lucky person is going to have the time of their lives!

I'm applying as soon as the website quits getting hammered! That would be unreal and a story to be told forever.

I wonder if the winner will have to sit at a computer and punch in numbers every 108 minutes before the island blows up

Now that's funny right there!

Have you ever seen where I'm from. It's not the Washington State that you would think of. Unless you think of it as a dry desert with less than 8 inches of rain and year. I'd love to be surrounded by water!

With my luck, I'd get eaten by a shark the first week I was there!

Best job in the World
I didn't see anything about full scale aircraft, model aircraft, or flying anything at all. How can it be the greatest job in the world without involving flying?

It says they will fly your back and forth to the island, I would think the best thing to do is to have them buy you a plane so you can fly your self ;-)

The airport there was built out at each end into the ocean but is still very short. The pilot actually warned the cabin to be prepared for a "Slam and stop" landing.

Awesome really, I don't think we got down to taxi speed with 100 ft left.

The island was owned by 1 guy then who I hear went broke and killed himself. He had an incredible motorcycle collection in a museum on the island. Since it's been taken over by the Australian gvt. If any Aussie's could confirm this (?)

Incredibly beautiful place though. The Foxbats coming out of the mountains in the evening is something else I'll never forget. Clouds of them.

Diving there was the first time I ever saw a shark. bunch of hammerheads (they don't school). I bought a pic from one of the dive taggers of me and the then wife with them in the background.

For years I've been recommending Hamilton, nice to see they are getting some publicity.
