Hi Has anyone ever used this muffler from Zimmerman?
http://www.rcmarket.org/gas-muffler-pr-16275.html
And if so, is the performance is the same or better than the V-3?

Thanks
Cheers

Hi Zorba

I have that zimmermann muffler from the link,
only thing I can tell you is, it stays on.

EDIT you can see a video with the 2651 and the rear mounted
zimmermann mufflers on a spectra here:

Hi Helipro 007

I have only flowen it a few times, and that was during a
breakin period ( rich )

But weather seem to get a bit better within the next few day,
and I will, hopefully have a chance to try it out.

It seems that ( from the video ) the the power is the same
as the rear mounted version.
What I can say for now is that, I have only tightened it
once and it has not come loose, or leaking.

The silver soldering looks all right,
but the TIG welding, well judge by your self,
not that it`s leaking, I`m thinking finnish.
But it has`nt come apart yet

BTW I got mine here http://www.rcmarket.org/home.php

If you clean the threads good, and then use automotive goop(Walmart has it)on the threads, your muffler will not come loose...If it does, you have drive train problems, period...

I used the old version 1 of this muffler back 4 years ago. My Spectra Z231 ran great on this muffler. I assume the new one is even better as Billme has had a lot of input on function.

Hi,

I have both the old version and the new version of the Zimmermann muffler. The old version had an extra bracket for fixing the muffler to the engine.
The Century Torpedo is probably not as quiet as the Zimmermann and has a more metalic sound (that I don't like much).

I switched the Torpedo on my Spectra with a Zimmermann. See my Spectra with the Zimmermann and the Torpedo

Thanks for all the replies people. I got the muffler comming from RC-market.

It looks more stylish than the V3.

Thanks again for all your input..
