Red on Twin Observer

Got the Red camera mounted on the Twin today. AUW came in at 42.14 lbs. It worked out that the standard Red battery pack mounted to the rear CG'd the whole rig just right.

I remember 2 years ago when I first mounted the HVX200 thinking how big and heavy IT was at 7 lbs!

The lightest Red configuration with battery ended up being just under 14 lbs. total.

What lens?

Were you using the AJA downconverter to output SD for the downlink?

Tab,

We have a couple of 35mm primes we are going to try. I'll have more info after some flight testing.

No AJA yet. We are testing an HD downlink.

Do me a favor and get some nice footage off that set-up. it would be nice to see a bergen kicking some butt with the Red.

We are certainly going to try. Chris Bergen (and Larry before him) are those rare breed of individuals who are always a pleasure to work with!

Not quite ready to post pics yet.

The mainshaft is way down on the list of parts that I would be concerned about first at this weight.

Are not the tail on the Bergens a big weak point?

The current larger tail gearbox is very robust. I haven't had any problems.
