I sold my raptor a while back. Not because I needed anything better, but more because I wanted a new challenge. I'm kind of sorry I sold it. The guy that bought it from me put it in a Hughes 500 fuse that is just pretty as can be.

Hello All

The Raptor 50 Titan has always been one of my favorite helis. It's reliable and very easy to work on. Parts fit well and I rairly have to maintain it as long as I keep it out of the dirt.

As Jeff mentioned I have his old Titan with the following:

4x 8717 servos
Logictech 6100 with tail servo
RevMax
OS Hyper 50 with Align pipe
Align 600mm blades
Align head block with Mikado flybarless conversion
Specktrum 7000Rx with step down reg. for the gyro
2s 2100 Thunder Power Prolite
My own flybarless stabalization electroncs

Of all the 50 sized machines I've owned this is definitally on the top of the list...definitally what I would consider trusty rusty.

Xera Motors
ProBar
Minicopter
Thunder Power

Is it me or does it seem like Raptor is a "easy" target lately?

Align is currently enjoying and growing on the new helo in town syndrome...
IF any of us older dogs know anything is that we know that it just won't last... (sorry Align guys!)

Align came out of the gate well with the Trex 450 and stomped the market! Then along came the long promised 50 (Trex600) and if that wasn't refined enough yet they dangled the Trex 700 in the ads till even the Align guys were selling their 600's and stood in line to get their hands on the the 700!!

So, what has Align released lately...

Oh, yeah the tiny baby Trex 250... is that the best they got?
Is this the the cutting edge of the end of forward progression...

Kind of following in the go back to the beginning mentality isn't it?
Because if you can't trudge forward, go back to what you are good at!
And the Align guys bust on the TT for the new electric coming out?

Then some new manufacturer will release something new and the factory pilots that once flew for Raptor that went to Align will follow suit to that company..
It's how they make a living!
Fly the new stuff and showboat it! Drown the market so all will follow and stand behind it mindlessly..
Oh yeah it is the best, OK.. sure.. sure...

Sorry Align... If the 700 is the pinnacle, that's kinda sad!
Don't bust on Raptors!
Someday someone will say "Hey is that one of those old Align 600's??"
At least they still make vacuums

Point is made... Enough said!
Flame proof fire suit on, Try and convince me marketing doesn't work!

pull-n-pitch nailed it, its all about marketing for Align. The true test for any heli is the test of time. Lets see how redundant the 600 is in a year or 2..

I have a rappy 50 se and a vibe 50. I was going to buy a rex600n but walked out with a vibe 90. For me ( my opinion ) i prefer the rappy to the rex it seems better quality even though its plastic framed. But then again i love the vibe50 and its g10 framed. I will always keep the rappy but it may end up in a scale fuse but i dont think that i will ever get a rex600 after getting the 90 and the 50 vibe, they dont have any slop built in. ill stick with tt and jr but thats just me and my opinion based on what ive seen

jr venture 30
Raptor 50se
Trex450se
Trex450s
JR Vibe 90 with all the fruit

Hello

I'm just tagging on to this point in the topic (without reading 98.5% of the topic's post...sorry)but did the IRCHA crew take the annual TT photo this year? Or did they save the space for the Align guys/gals? Although the Align troops were out in forces, RC HELI mag did not posts the picture of TT's loyal Raptor following this year.

Thanks
Loren

I set up my raptor 50 with a G-force head and mixing levers put a Trex 600 E canopy on it let a team pilot fly it he thaught it was a 600 N until he landed and I told him it was a raptor.
That is the same setup on my R50 and it is a beast. It reacts so fast some folks have tought it was a TRex600.

Yeah I have that video saved so everytime a Trecker talks smack about the rappy I can rub it in there face cause im willing to bet money that 80% of the guys putting the raptor down and saying you need a Trex to do good 3D cant do half the stuff in that video with there Trex.Thats proof right there on a pretty much stock Raptor.
