Whatever happened to the Raptor?
The original question.

Most are probably collecting dust, shelved,in a closet.

And they can/will come back out to play someday.

Why Hover a Yak, when a Heli does it better?

The raptor is a tried and true machine. I laugh at the people that deny this machine the credit it deserves. Im tired of hearing how the raptor is "old technology". Nonsense. The only thing this bird has going against it at this point, is its weight. Well sorry guys "News flash" the weight is easily lost making it as competitive as any on the market today. If you cant get the job done with the raptor, go home. Btw, i fly the 90se, a bw stratus, and my 600n is still in the box as it has been for the past year and a half......

Going to be around a while.I still see Concepts and Shuttles around and the Raptor reign of terror is just ending now.......In 6 months the next latest greatest will be out and everybody can get one of them.I've been in the hobby since 82.This is all a rerun for me.You can stay one step of technology behind and save about 78 gajillionmillion dollars buying cast offs.

Yea everybody did untill he switched to an Avant and finally won something, then they finally realized it was highly over rated and he had gotten all it would do but it wasn't quite enough. So i guess you could say he out flew it and needed something more.

I put my Raptor 90se beside my friends T-rex 700, the 90 size TT bird is higher and longer than to so called 90 size T-rex 700. Don't get me wrong the T-rex 700 seems to fly well, but so does the Raptor 90, which I have seen flown by Collin Bell this summer at our funfly.

I set up my raptor 50 with a G-force head and mixing levers put a Trex 600 E canopy on it let a team pilot fly it he thaught it was a 600 N until he landed and I told him it was a raptor. Now Carlo with Probar has it with a T Rex head block flybarless and it still rocks.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

No matter what your opinion of the Raptor is (good or bad), the reality is that MANY pilots just simply like new toys to play with once in a while.

That fact alone will mean that many pilots will continue to move away from the Raptor in droves until TT comes out with a new toy for them to play with.

I have both, a Raptor Titan and a 600N pro. My Raptor flies good, but my Trex flies better( in my opinion ). I am flying the Raptor now after a real bad crash with the Trex, but when I get the new Trex up and running it will be my main ride! At least until the 700 gets running!

I've got the G-force flybar cage and HS6245 servos on my .50 Titan and I like the way it flies. For a while there I was in a big hurry to dump it for a 600N, then I realized that would be a lot of effort to get right back to where I am now.

If that Schluter still flies, you didn't fly it enough.

Anyway, I agree with bosshoss and JAGNZ latest posts. There are plenty of Raptors sitting in many of our hobby rooms, garages, basements and closests. Most who have been in the hobby for at least 3 years will likely still have a Raptor sitting around somewhere. Mostly, one can't sell a used Raptor for enough to make it worthwhile. Some like me got a Raptor as their first nitro heli and will keep it for sentimental reasons.

I still fly my Raptor occasionally. And it can still do manuevers in the hands of a great pilot much better than my skills allow. However, I can say without question that my other, newer helis such as my Vibe50 and T-rexes 600N, 600E and 700 make me a better pilot. I can do more 3D maneuvers better with them than I can with the Raptor. Does that make the them better helis than the Raptor? I really don't know if there is a right answer to that!

I'll never buy a over priced Align heli unless I get another 450.$120.00 + for a set of frames, screw that and theres a 75% chance you will replace them in a good crash LOL.Have fun ya rich Trex guys LOL.Dont cry when you have to repair your awesome Trex in a good crash haha.MAN DOWN,MAN DOWN .
