It seems they went the way of the dodo bird. 2 years ago it was Raptor this, Raptor that. Especially when the question was asked.. "Which heli to get?" People would get butthurt if anyone recommended anything but a Raptor. Now all I see is 600N. and I almost forgot about the 700. Seriously, is a 600N gonna out fly my Raptor 60?

It's much better than the Raptor in every way.
Dont worry about getting flamed theres only a couple of Raptor die hards left, and they are team pilots.
Everybody else has switched to Align or vibe 50.

it would be nice to see TT raptor come back as a new machine with all the goodies that make others more popular. I for one am not onboard with align and have only had loyalty to synergy for over a year.

Don t worry every dog has it s day the same will happen to T rex 600. Now the megahype then something else will come and it will pass....!Just buy whatever you like and fly the **** out of it. If you want consistent Helimodels buy Hirobo.

Got my 6 Raptors and happy with them, I hate CCPM. Love 60 size machines, also like 50's but 60/70 size is just perfect in my book.

Key Points fading
O ne of the Rappy's key popularity factors was price.

But, now that you can get a Scedeu for 239 bucks shipped.

Also, every Heli LHS worth it's salt carried a wall of Rappy parts...now they have been stocked with Align.

The Raptor is still a better Heli, it will certainly last longer. But, the main market is fickle.....and the 600N makes it easier for a moderately skilled pilot to get agressive .

It's not the skill LEVEL of the pilot, as most could not out fly a Raptor 50, only the wanting of an easier machine to stunt, that makes the Align popular.

When the Raptors get blown out like the Scedeu's , I will snap a few up.

Why Hover a Yak, when a Heli does it better?

Raptor's
DS8717, that is an interesting comment, I can assure you that the Raptors are not gone and are alive and well. They still fly great, infact most people can't out fly their ability but follow the crowd and get on the new bandwagon in town. However I fly what I feel comfortable with. I do have a few different brands and have owned and flown the Trex 600. Outfly the raptor, I am not sure, and I am sure that many others would say the same thing.

I'm not even going to comment on this... just fly what you like and be done with it. Seriously, who cares? It would be a terrible day in the hobby when flyers go to a field and say "oh you're flying a raptor? I can't fly at this field anymore" or "you don't like raptors? OMGWTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?"

Come on guys, it's 2009 now, are we really gonna have ANOTHER argument about which is better or why that one is the worst?

LOL, we all have our preferences, but topics like these are like beating the cremated remains of a dead horse...

Be careful not to inhale the fumes

TT might just change the canopy and color. Seriousely though... that would be nice.

Amongst other helis/brands I own a Raptor 50 V2. Not even "SE".
Just with a decent set of servos and a OS 50 Hyper.
The Raptor is my "working horse".
Bought it second hand, changed over time this and that, crashed it several times.
Crash kits come at a bargain, plus a set of blades, here we go again.
If I compare it to the Graupners I started with, dear, how much money I dumped into these.
Wished I had started directly with a "Rappi", as we call 'em over here.
As long as it flies better than I do, and can be repaired if necessary,
this machine will stay with me.

Cheers!
Thilo

P.S.: Almost forgotten: if at one time the classic Raptor look bores me to death, hiding the "outdated technology" in a nice fuselage would be an option, too

Is there anyone who has their very first 600N , that is still in one piece, never having to need a rebuild? After many seasons of flying? Without ever having any parts replaced? Still flyable?

You won't ever hear of one:

1: It hasn't been long enough yet.

2: None would hold up long enough.

But , you can find any number of orignal build Raptors still flying , or collecting dust, without EVER needing a rebuild from wear and tear.

So, I doubt someday, in a half a decade, you will see a post.....

Hey , I dusted off my 600N today......

I put it away 5 years ago, it NEVER needed anything, I am bored , maybe i will fly it again.

You won't EVER see a post like that. Because it can't happen.

Funny, in ten years, there will still be post like that for Raptors.

Am I right??? Yup.

Why Hover a Yak, when a Heli does it better?

Probably you will not see the 600N around because people with have lost track of what upgrade, recall refit part would fit in V2, V3 V etc etc.So if they would have to reactivate it they would have books to read on parts....lol!

I have owned and flown both TT and Align. I have nothing bad to say about TT, but I now fly just Align because I am on the bandwagon....so I'm told

Out of about 30 pilots here in Omaha 2 of us have 600Ns'
Raptors are still winning here.

Now the Trex 450 is another story. They are as common as the mosquito.
