Of course! But watch out for the safety brigade...
You should also consider airsoft or paintball markers, too.

The easiest way to go about firing rockets is to use the Estes A/AA rocket- this is a small guy and should be easy to experiment with. To ignite, use some creativity to switch a power circuit by using a small servo on a spare channel.

Of course, you'll want to use a good dose of sanity when you decide where to light these off...

I don't want to rain on your parade, just point something out.

If you decide to go that route, make sure to take them off when you go to an AMA sanctioned event or an AMA Club. The AMA safety rules specifically frown upon propelling anything from an RC aircraft. Key word being propelling it does not say shooting, igniting, or launching. It says propelling. If it is not dropped, it is propelled, and thus frowned upon.

Otherwise have fun in a private field or non-AMA site. Make sure to take some video and post it here for the rest of us to see.

I'd like to see some of that action myself.....

Here at our field (AMA insured) I had a buddy that had Estes rockets he could launch from the stub wings on his Cobra. It was pretty cool. We just made sure to have a fire extinguisher handy and there were a select few of us at the field when he did it so as not to cause problems.

Good times

Why don't you start at the rocket section of Walmart. I remember thay had them there. Otherwise, anywhere where rockets are sold.

Here's a pre-school level diagram of what you'll want to do in a super-simple igniter setup. I have experienced radio hits on 72MHz with this setup, though.

I suppose 'nose in' hovering skills are not required here ??

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?
