remember the reading is only as accurate as the source instrument that is taking the measurements.

This thing is more precise than any pitchgauge out there and its free! You can calibrate and zero it in any position!

Great find and thanks for sharing.

Now I have a need to borrow my kids ipod.
remember the reading is only as accurate as the source instrument that is taking the measurements.
calibration comes to mind.

Anyways...THE first measurement would be the table the helis is sitting on. Followed by a perpendicular shaft to the table. Otherwise all readings will be inaccurate.

Does anyone know the margin of error for this software?

Lol! No free I Fone!Or I pod. Sorry the App is called clinometer and is 99 cents! I realy don t know what pitchgauges you guys use but this one is more precice that any I had bevor and just convinient. Put the I pod or fone level on your table and zero it, slide it over your blades keep the flybar at 0 deg and read what it indicates, it works like any othe pitchgauge, you can change colors and from deg to whathaveyou.

Regards Pete

Use a cheap pitchgauge(some align thing). Atach two clamps(found them somewere). Clip onto the I pod or Fone(same thing one cannot make calls!)Slide onto blade and measure pitch like always. Enjoy.

I made one a few months back with my i-pod touch. It is pretty cool but unless you have your flybar level and it is on a level surface the readings will be off.

Not knocking it, it is good for setup at home or where you know you are on a level surface, didn't work very well for me at the field.
