Using Specturm's DX6i on Phoenix. Everything works fine. But, now the transmitter doesn't put out a signal for the real heli.

I had to send the radio in to Horizon Hobby be fixed and some system board had to be replaced.

The radio worked with the heli a couple months ago. Only used it on Phoenix and then all of a sudden, it quite working on my real Trex 450. I wanted to be sure that Phoenix can't harm the radio... or if there's a "never do that" that I don't know about.

Thoughts?

Try rebinding it to the heli.

you're not using the flight sim with the power button on are you?

make sure you arn't.

if you just plug in the cable it will come on in no transmit mode.

that's the only "never do that" with spektrum.
other than that used a spare DX6i on Phoenix for over 6 months of 2 hours a night.

now using my primary DX7 and no issues at all.

When trying to re-bind is when I found out I had the problem. I had bound the transmitter a month earlier with my Blade CX2 with no problems, then flew on Phoenix for a few months, then went back to fly the Blade and it wouldn't connect or bind. I also had the same problem with the Trex then.

I do fly with the power off, but I think a time or two I may have attempted to turn off the transmitter by flipping the switch on instead of unplugging (brain fart). I have to do that when I fly on the sim with my Blade transmitter because it doesn't power up automatically. I'm not sure if that caused the problem but I can't believe that I can be the only person to ever make that mistake. If it's that critical, then I would think that others would have the same issue...

As far as I know the "SE" vesion doesnt output on the trainer port properly, so you can't use it with sims or in teacher/trainer mode.
