I had an HV110 go up in flames in 120 ultra stick last fall

Sorry but don't have any vids of "burnt" helis but I do have some of heli's flying just great on 8S with the stock 100A Align. Like I mentioned before, I do appreciate the concern from those that have mentioned that my (and others) are exceeding the "recommended" and even "reported" max values. I do take responsibility for my actions but will also take responsibility for it's success There's one thing that's for sure, IT DOES WORK; there's one thing thats not for sure, HOW LONG WILL IT WORK.
I will definately update over time whether good or bad. In all honesty, I'll probably crash the heli before it fails and from something that has nothing to do with the ESC. So I'm not concerned if it does fail and cause a crash. Got a couple of 500's to fly whenever the 600 is down so I won't exactly be hurting

6008s - I hear ya but please promise to stay attached. How else you gonna hear/see about the degree of damage that could result Besides, I'm a true believer that a person learns the most when they've got two differing opinions.

R38133, I've emailed the company cause I can't find the part numbers for the 11 - 16 tooth helical pinions for the 650L motor.

That great news that Align’s new motor and ESC work well on 8s.

It might be just as easy to get a 5mm pinion and drill it out. The 6mm pinions for the 650L are very new and might be in short supply.

Actually I'm going to do something even more crazy. I ordered a Outrage 3S 3700mah bat that I'm going to run in series with my 4S. I'll have the first 7S T-rex 600 (at least at the local field). This way I can keep my 15 tooth and should be able to keep everything a lil cooler. We'll see.

Well my 7S came yesturday and I'll try to get a flight in today. Only problem is that it's so damn cold here (-8 was the low this morning). I guess I'd better go ahead and replace the plastic main grips with my new metal grips. I hate to open a perfectly running head, but these temps have me a lil nervous about the main grips being plastic. BTW, I flew the other day in 18 deg and the only issue I had was with my 500 displaying slight glicth-like symptoms. I tighten my motor main gear mesh a lil and will also put a light coat of oil on the belt for both heli's before I go out today.

Update - First problem with 8S
So like I mentioned in earlier post, I ordered a 3S 3700mah Outrage pack and it came in but I'll give more on it in a bit.

First, the other day when I went to fly the 8S setup, I plugged the bats in and nothing. I reconfigured, and still no matter what I did, the esc wouldn't give beep number one. So in frustration, returned home (luckily where I was flying was only 5 min away). After about 30 mins at home, I decided to try and find the cause of this problem but when I plugged the 8S pack in, it was ALIVE again. So yea. I gathered all my stuff and returned to the park, but again when I plugged in, there was nothing. WTF! The weird thing is I unplugged one of the packs from the series and plugged it in to the ESC and it was alive. Long story short, the ESC won't even recognize the 8S voltage when under a certain temp (it was < 15 deg outside) but WOULD act normal with 7S and below. As soon as the ESC was in temps above ~20 deg, it would arm like normal with the 8S. My guess is either resistance goes down with temp, or volatage goes up. I don't know. BTW, THE BAT PACKS WERE ABOUT 90 DEG WARM. I always prewarm my packs.

Now to the 7S. Ladies and gents, we DEFINATELY HAVE A WINNER! I wouldn've had a video, but a certain buddy forgot to actually hit the RECORD button and so my trying to showoff went in total vain.....................................
I had the HS set at 2050, flight time was set for 4.5 min and there were ton's of tic-tocs (forward and side), flips, inverted punch outs, ect...I've not recharded the packs yet so don't know what the refill is but I can say that on a HS of 2000, I only put back 2500mah.

Any update on this, buddy? I may be looking into using the CC HV85 with the stock motor 650L on my 600ESP. If the motor has no issue for ya, I will give it a go.

Much appreciated that you took the time to educate us something we're unsure about.

the motor will work as long as you don't over amp it. change the gearing to fit the voltage input

cub2000, like TG said, the motor did great on this but the only "problem" was that a 14T pinion would've been perfect but I couldn't find one so had to run the 15T with reduced throttle (not as efficient). I DEFINATELY THINK IT'S WORTH THE COST OF THE HV85 to go up to 7 or 8S.

As far as an update, I'm sorry but I sold that heli and I've gone to the dark side and I got me a N9. I sure do miss the highpwr electric cause this nitro shi.... is so damn messy but my flight times are almost twice as long. Now if only I could get used to the $30 gal price tag!
