I just installed it here at work yesterday. Haven't had much of a chance to tinker with it yet.

I have transferred all the software and program form my XP install to 7 already and it been working great.

BlueTooth is redone right and now its working better then xp and vista.

64bit need a lot of support from the hardware/software manufacture to make thing work right.

Hopefully final price will be cheaper then Vista.

A Quick Warning!
The Beta will stop working on August 1, 2009. To continue using your PC, please be prepared to reinstall a prior version of Windows or a subsequent release of Windows 7 before the expiration date. You won’t be able to upgrade from the Beta to the final retail version of Windows 7.

Not Bad
Not bad I loaded it on an old P4 2.6 with a gig of ram. Expected it to be slower. I have no idea what Vista looks like as I have avoided it like the plaque... I think they may have gotten it right. I like the Libaries idea and the grouping of folder contents in one "imaginary" place. The task bar has a lot of needed improvements. I guess the real test will be more than the stuff on the surface and will be stability, security, and performance.

I end up with like 3 laptop need to be reinstall of xp and I installed "7" on all of them for testing they don't need them back until spring. So I tried the Homegroup thing, it work pretty neat. A lot easier then trying to get computer to show up and shares to work right in WinXP network.

I was thinking about useing partotion magic on my 160gb hd. I have plenty of extra space, and I have a recovery partition taking up 8.95 gb, with 111 free on C: Anyone dont this on their main pc?

I have used partition magic before. And am good with computers. I worked in a shop, till I was layed off.

Now I sit home alot, being the weather is bad, and not many odd jobs avaible now. I'm getting bored, realflight is still fun. My trex 450sa sits waiting, have not even turned it on, since I got it.
Just built a Slow Stick, and have not had a chance to give it a try either.

Just wanting something to experiment with. Is their any other partition software better than partion magic? and Why.

I had pretty good luck with partition magic before, But had 3 diffrant os installed and had one os to malfunction. This was on another pc that is sold now thou. This is my main, and only pc now. And was just thinking about trying windows 7. Is it better than Vista?

My PC is HP Pavilion Media Center m7300e
2 GB ram
4000+ AMD Athlon
480 watt PSU
8800GT Nvidea Geforce.
160GB HD
26" HDTV for monitor

Real Flight G4 looks great too.

Do you think I'd mess up my os with a thired partion for windows 7?
Because I have a lot of neat software installed.
Thanks
Marty

Looks like the installer for 7 only want to be on C:\ and it will rename the old windows dir to windows.old.

I installed on a extra drive I have.

I think I've got Windows 7.5 instead.

Here's what it looks like after I installed it on my IBM notebook:
Isn't that Ubuntu 8.10?!

I love that program. I've got it running on my eeePC which I really like also.

Sorry for the hijack OP. Here's hoping you guys are digging Windows 7 and it truly is the XP replacement we all hoped for but didn't get with Vista.

It should work on a new partion, and leave my C: and D alone.

So far I am liking it!
Running Vista 32 bit and windows7 64 bit on a dual boot right now.
Only thing I have noticed is it's not supporting my media card reader.
It is however much faster. Especially when it comes to file transfers. Vista is a MAJOR DOG when it comes to large file transfers.
Interestingll enough, my windows performance number with vista is 5.6 and with windows7 it is 6.2.

Graphics drivers are a bit lame though. Run G3 with full AA and AF and it looks like it's not even turned on. Of course everything is beta still so it's to be expected.

It appears that MS won't allow any more downloads. Does anyone have a copy they care to share or know of a torrent?
