There's a lot of bullying, posturing, and snickering in the homophobe community. Underneath it is fear. I don't completely understand stand it but it's a pathology as old as the human race.

Fear of things which they cannot or will not understand.

This brand of fear exists around the world every day with humans. It shapes society in BIG ways, nearly all of 'em detrimental to our capacity to thrive.

Gimble why should I believe what you say - husky385, before editing
It's not true because I said it's true -- it's true because it is what it is.

Live a few more decades and if you're lucky, such facts about human nature and the fundamentals of existence will eventually become clear to you.
We all have our own beliefs.
Yup -- whether they're true or myth -- but one man's (or a billion men's) 'beliefs' have NO BEARING whatsoever on whether or not those 'beliefs' are TRUE.

Is it 'not right' to have red hair? That makes just as much sense.

Having red hair and being queer is two different things.

Of course they are. One is a genetic predisposition towards an uncommon hair color, the other is a genetic predisposition towards an uncommon sexual preference -- but BOTH are nothing more than genetic predispositions, with the exception of those unfortunate traumatic abuse victims who haven't yet found a way to ground out the 'lightning' which has tweaked their minds.

What do you suppose explains the fact that roughly 10% of ALL mammalian species lean 'the other way'?

Brilliant! The typical response of someone who's struggling in vain to deal with his own undeniable genetic predispositions. That about it, Sparky?

As someone relatively new to the RC helis, I was initially pretty disgusted by the apparent predominance of thoughtless bigotry evident in this thread, and by extension (presumably) in the RC Heli community. On second thought however, I was able to convince myself that it was not necessarily a reflection on RC heli aficionados so much as a reflection on people who have the time and inclination to express themselves on forums, no matter how much off topic, in an effort to see their words in print and to feel superior to others. Kind of sad really.

Your response was just as brilliant. I do apologize for using those words. You with you attitude brings such things out in people. Must be your inadequacies in bed that makes you the way you are.

Ouch -- ya sure got me good there, Sparky. It's unlikely I'll ever recover.

Let's see what you can do for an encore.

You gotta forgive Gimbal, the election is over he had to find something else to start a stink over.

You can quote statistics all day long, its not a matter of how many people are gay. Frankly I don't care. I still think its wrong. Now before you start whining, that doesn't mean I hate those people. There is a HUGE difference between thinking what they do is wrong and hating them. Unfortunately we had a knee jerk reaction in this country to back away from whatever is not politically correct to say.

As little as I agree with Gimbal on many things, I do believe what he is saying here is true. I used to think it was simply a choice people made. Life has shown me that this is not the case. I don't think a gay person can choose to be gay anymore than I can choose not to be. I think it is just they way they are wired. A few people that I known as both as a child and as an adult have led me to believe this.

This doesn't mean I have to agree with it. Even at Gimbal's generous percentage its still a small percentage. They are requesting large changes in laws that are just not inline with their numbers.

'Preciate that.

It really is just a coincidence of genetic inheritance -- the luck of the gene pool draw -- like earlobes. Either ya gotta 'em or ya don't. Simple as that.
