You do this during bearing replacement? Doesn't it just get burnt off in the engine? This is the first time I've heard of this practice.

I was thinking that may be the case, but then I thought-you just never know. Thanks for clearing that up.

Update
I sent the motor back for service under warranty, glad I did, just got an email from Hobby Services.

The rear bearing failed. This damaged the piston, ring and liner. We will replace these parts.

what do u guys think about alloy steel bearings? Or www.dpibearings.com, really need feed back on it.
Do all bearings last the same time, if manufactured from japan, taiwan or u could say dubai?
Well I wish I was in states so would have utilized this warranty service. as the engine was bought from states , when I used to reside there.

JJ-Trex,, if there is no brand name stamped on the side of it I wouldn't buy it !!!!!!!! if it says NSK on it or better yet SKF then your getting a good bearing !!

""1 OSMG3043 26730010 REAR BEARING 50SX-H 00"" ,, I'm betting this bearing will be needing replacement in about 3 gallons..

Wasp,

You realize that where a bearing is made or what is marked on it really has no meaning for the suitability of the bearing for the intended use? SKF has large factories in China so Chinese made bearings have to be good, right? Or is it that SKF are bad because they are made in China? A C0 clearance Swedish made SKF has to be better than A CN Chinese bearing from Fuzhou Hongs, right? And, if you get a bearing marked RBI, is it good or bad?

Like I said, you really can't tell by those factors.

Bearings
Hey guys,
I have to do the same to my 50, but it looks as if you all are split between ceramic and the stainless. I have already done the crank mod and the only reason I need to pick up a set on new bearings is because I have to change out the block because of a busted exhaust flange.
So which way do I go?

Lemme know!!

I wondered why the Heli kept getting bigger....then it hit me!

""so Chinese made bearings have to be good, right? ""

not all ,, I'm not saying the Chinese can't make a good product, what I am saying is with all the complaints about unmarked bearings I would not buy an unmarked bearing to put in my engines,

my SKF cost me $46 {not $6, not $18) and my NSK cost me $34, then add about $10 each for shipping, , I took a chance, after flying last fall I let both my engines set all winter WITHOUT cleaning and without adding after-run oil, after setting 4 months the SKF was not rusted, after setting 5 months my NSK was not rusted, nuff said..

Looking on line it would seem that rc-bearings are much cheaper than say boca bearings. Does anyone have the experience of both to beable to say if there is any difference in quality or longevity
