Many factors play a role Kaon.
As which exhaust, needle settings, rotorblades, take off weight and fuelmix, throttle/pitch curve you use.
Try and set the rotor rpm and the hover pitch setting will follow.
It is quite possible you may end up hovering with 5,5 degree or so.
And if you want to hover at midstick or at 3/4 stick, is you're preference ofcoarse.

I don't have a tachometer though. Any recommendations?
My fist suggestion would be to get one but even a movie camera will get you close to 1800 (north American system).
