No issues with USPS except thier pricing for oversized stuff.
That is my biggest complaint! (other than the fact that they need a system to actually track packages.)

Have always had good service over the years, until a couple weeks ago;
A USPS 2-3 day Priority package got over sorted in NJ, and then mis routed to Amaway NY, but was kicked all the way to my door..... and took about 2 weeks..... after contacting the customer service via web site. I will "never: not use insurance.....

Glad they were A123 instead of Lipos.

I don't like the prices or large sized packages either.....

USPS
Some of you may say it was a machine that damaged this envelope it looked as if it was opened and not ripped off as a machine might have damaged it in a jam, I feel they thought there was a credit card in it & and opened it up. Its still my personnel opinion I think there service sucks. You can post your great undamaged parcels storys so can I, I received good ones also. But over all they suck.

JEEPCJ Tracking
USPS doesn't track Sh^T, unless you pay for it, and they still dont track it from start to finish, UPS starts it and follows it in-between to finish and then you get a e mail when its at your house. UPS it comes with the program right off the bat. Like I said way back in this post USPS works on the honor badge, LOL, if the box makes it--it makes it, who's to say it wasn't delivered.

SIMAGES
Ok SIMAGES box, who's to say it wasn't used as a football or a soccer ball for a hour or 2 in the back room. Look at the picture of that box, come on here, the postal person should ring your door bell and say do you want this mess or lets open it up so we can see if whats in side is damaged. Now do you think if you went into the post office with that box all banged up as in that picture to be shipped they would accept it, NO WAY, well then they shouldn't deliver one looking like that its unacceptable service. Thats why they suck. If you went into any store to buy something would you take a box off the shelf looking like that. Or if the counter person in a store handed you a box looking like that what would you say nice I'll take it and pay and walk out the door. I would say who used baseball bats to hit this like it was a Pinata.

USPS beats all the couriors for Canada
I've done a lot of shipping via Canada Post and USPS never a problem they are just a little on the slow side. The couriors on the other hand have a little charge between the borders called brokerage fees the first time I got nailed with it the total charge to me to have my package released was $80 I was choked! So If you send by your National postage system to Canada send by USPS only and by the way you can track your package through the reciept number the one that ends in US. When I recieve packages sent by our National postal systems I normally pay no extra charges so for my money they are the only way to ship enver have I recieved a damaged package nor have any I sent been damaged too. One more note when I send a package I make them bullit proof you could drop mine off a second floor balcony and they will still be OK. My two bits worth and as of yet no reason to change my mind.Mopardan maybe someone in your town doesn't like you do you have any ex wives?

USPS
Never married maybe soon, its not going to be a mail order bride either I'm sure that will arrive all Fu#ked up if it does arrive at all. They suck bensidus197217. I get along with everyone on my street and the postal woman. I shipped stuff back to RCmarket and it never arrived. Boxes have come damaged that was supposed to be signed for they left it on my lawn. Like I said its the honor system with them, at least UPS bar codes all packages. If USPS loses the box they have no clue where it was lost. THEY SUCK

Out of the millions of pkgs they handle daily I think they all do a great job.
When I ship, don't use the flimsy box alone, line it with heavy cardboard and lots of fill. These boxes do get stacked so if your on the bottom in a paper thin box, it will get crushed.
Also do not ship in anything smaller than shoe box size. A small pkg like a matchbox size has very good potential to get lost.z

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

A company statement I found.
I was looking to buy spark plugs for my car and this is what I read about USPS I put a copy of it below, but also the web page so you can see it for your self. Its near the bottom of the advertisement. Looks like another person/company has them figured out.

http://www.race-mart.com/items/prod...P7ES-detail.htm

We do not ship spark plugs by US mail for your
protection. No matter who you buy product from, the
terms are FOB origin, which means you take legal
title to the merchandise the second the product leaves
the dock. If the product gets lost, it's your responsibility,
not the merchants. With a US mail shipment, your money
is gone forever. With UPS or FedEx you have a tracking
number and a means to recover your money. We do this
for your protection not ours.

When it comes to shipping in the States from what I've heard that may be the case. I have recieved one letter from the States that looked like it was under the mail truck instead of in it. However I have mailed about twenty five packages via Canada Postal Service and United States Postal Service all have made it on time and in perfect condition. Maybe the two are trying to outdo each other. Once I recieved a 450 trex by UPS it came early but it cost me an additional $80 for brokerage and duty fees before they would release it. Canada Post and USPS do not charge brokerage fees duty is also cheaper too. So when it comes to cross border shipping United States Postal Service and Canada Post is the ONLY way to go. This is coming from a guy who has been there many times. Those who have had experience with the two, chime in and add your two bits worth

Bensidus,

I can only confirm what you stated!

USPS and Canada Post for crossborder is the only way to go!
UPS is killing you with brokerage fee's etc.

The only way to avoid this,is having the parcel delivered by UPS to a border warehouse, who then in turn does the clearing
and delivery for you, or you go across the border , pick up the paperwork and the pcs from them and clear it yourself.
This is actually quite an easy process, you live in Richmond BC Have a look at the Blaine border crossing, there are quite a few US side warehouses that accept deliveries on behalf of Canada Customers.

http://www.discoverservice.ca/index.html

They are just one example.

They still SUCK & I still have not learned my lesson.
Ok I buy a postal money order for $210.00 and send it out to the person the same day, that's 4 states west of me, 2 to 3 day delivery time. Its well over 2 weeks going on 3 now and he has not received it. Ok, they checked, its not been cashed yet. So they charge me $5.40 now to do a MONEY ORDER INQUIRY that will not get started for 60 days. Then they said if it gets cashed illegally they will send a copy of both sides of the money order and its up to me, now get this, its my job to go after the person. Is that a load of SH!T or what. I have to go after the person. I think this is called Mail fraud, Ok scenario what if the postal carrier is buddies with the jerk off up front at the postal desk and gives a phony ID or they make up some # and they have there little business going on. I'm out $210.00 bucks. It just doesn't get better with them. I'm the one chasing this person now. Let me tell you this is some business the post office has. Its only a matter of time before they go out of business anyway. THEY SUCK I'LL say it again they suck suck suck suck !!!!!!!

My brother used to work for UPS. He told me stories about how the handlers would see a package marked "Fragile" and would use it as a football. It's up. It's good. There are bad apples in any area of business. I have never had an item lost but have have items arrive damaged both from UPS and the USPS.

Guys,
Let's be realistic here.....

For every 10 "USPS SUCKS" posts, you'll get 10 "FedEx sucks", 10 "UPS Sucks" posts, etc, etc, etc........

That's life.

No, I don't work for nor do I have anything to do with USPS. I can say that I've always had the best of luck using ALL of the shipping companies....

USPS is best for the small stuff......

FedEx beats UPS every time for the larger sized packages by about 16 %

I guess it's the luck of the draw in some cases......

PS--- I can't believe I'm even responding to a thread that is over 2 yrs old !!!

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Yea Juan
Let's be realistic here did you read all the post or just the last few. When it hasn't happened to you its nice and easy to say that's life, pick of the draw. And then post your happy stories. Then your going to complain about u cant believe your posting to something 2 yrs old no one asked you to, and well that's life look how long its been going on 2 yrs I've been screwed, with a few others. Your great experiences with shipping is not the problem posted, read what the problem is. I have had with them they suck. Maybe you'll get screwed next week by them and see how we all feel, I hope not. But if you do it will be your first time so it wont piss u off as bad and then go thru the bullsh!t claim process.
etc, etc, etc, ect ect ect ect ect there are people who feel different here ect ect ect Its a 2 yrs old post that says something RIGHT THERE !

That's life Juan must be nice to say that. Its sucks when you find a BRAND new gasser kit for a FUTURA S/E that you have been looking for and it vanishes off the planet in the hands of USPS.

mopardan,
Yup, I read the whole post..... maybe you should go back and read through all of them again because the debate between some people having a bad experience vs those that have had good luck is exactly what my point was..... maybe you missed that.

My comment about responding to a 2 yr old post was not meat to be offensive to you although it seems like it was. Sorry. I didn't mean to minimize your losses......

This "problem" has been going on a lot longer than just two years. If you search this and other forums, you'll find that some people will say that USPS sucks, some will say that UPS sucks while others will swear that they would never use FedEx ever again......

At the end of the day, warning others never to use USPS again in reality will have no effect on what others will use as a shipping method. Folks will use what they have had good luck with.

Again, I feel bad you've had the loss and hope that someday you can recoup those losses..... and I'm sorry that my comment "that's life" upsets you but in reality, it is.....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

It just sucks that you rely on a service and it just doesn't work out for you as you expected. And after 1 or 2 times you say ok maybe a mishap. But its unbelievable how many times they have screwed things up. Your right ranting on this site about it maybe old, but it makes me feel better to bash them a bit because of all the crap that has happened. I think of all the time I have wasted going there to figure out what is up with there service. Well happy flying I hope no one has the luck I have had with the USPS. I was so pissed yesterday after leaving the post office.

I will never use them to send or receive anything again. I rather spend the extra money and know that it will get there. I'm still waiting on a heli that a fellow RR member sent me! It's no wonder their business is going down. They should just close shop!!!
