Matt was running a brand new OS50 at IRCHA and the power he was getting out if it was amazing. I think their is only one other guy, that I know of, who can tune an engine like Matt, I'm sure you guys will agree that Scott Gray is also amazing at tuning engines.Team Synergy, Rail blades, Team Scorpion, V-Team

Did Matt or Todd ever say anything about what the spare prices are going to be? I'm looking hard at the Outrage V50 but would go with the N5 if the spares are in the Align/Outrage ballpark.

i was in atlanta flying wit Matt and he has the o.s.55 smoking, i never once heard the heli bogg on anything, unreal you just got to see it in person, the 50 was plenty for it but now its just crazy, he has put alot of time into this heli, i already have everything to go in one soon as i get it, thumbs up to you Matt!

It looks like Augusto is loosing the gold medal

The difference is that Avant kept announcing release dates and never meeting them, finally releasing the heli a full two years later.

Synergy has NOT announced a release date, it's still in development.

Two completely different situations.

Hello guys,

Below is a time line of past events for the N5.

- November 2007 - I visited Hong Kong to fix N9 issues and propose N5 project
- January 2008 - CAD Drawings for N5 submitted to Hong Kong for financial profit review considering state of economy and other available/popular 50 sized helicopters
- August 2008 - N5 Project approved and prototype drawings sent to vendors
- December 2008 - All parts sent to me for first prototype build
- January 2009 - First flights on N5
- March 2009 - Birmingham, Alabama First public event flights
- May 2009 - Prototype testing completed
- August 2009 - Production parts run started

As you can see the N5 has only been in the public eye now for a little less than 7 months. The start of this thread was not an official Synergy post. Also, keep in mind we do not own a machine shop like some other manufacturers, vendors need to be carefully selected based on sample parts.

To clear up any rumors -
Synergy Hong Kong has not set a release date as of yet, rest assured when they do set a date they will meet that date. Any rumors about a Christmas release are false. I will take full responsibility for showing the model publicly way too early, my enthusiasm for the N5 was hard to hold back.

Yes, you are completely right, no arguing about that. Just couldn´t resist sticking my finger in the wound created by the disapointment, which many ex-potential buyers of the N5 feel.
Fact is, that in the meantime I have bought 4 other choppers

Just curious, how could you be disappointed to not be able to buy something that doesn't exist? Sounds like your assumptions are to blame here, not a vendor.

Also, could you please provide a list of the "many ex-potential buyers" you claim to know about? I'd like to see that.

You guys are negatively rewarding a vendors pre-release information and excitement. The only thing that will result is that vendors will just keep tight lipped about upcoming products.

I enjoy the excitement and the pre-release news and hope vendors choose to ignore folks like this and keep us normal people in the loop. It's a lot of fun to be involved as a customer.

Common sense prevails guys.

Russ, and anyone else interested,

Starting production means the following and more.......

- Order X amount of all CNC parts from each vendor chosen for their specific task. Many times vendors have other jobs that are in the queue before ours.
- Order X amount of all plastic molded parts

Add a few days in the equation for shipping time from each vendor to Synergy factory.

- Quality control of each CNC part
- Quality control of each plastic part
- Factory assemble items such as swash plate, auto hub, ect. (Any idea how long it takes to assembly 2000 swash plates?)
- Part numbering
- Part costing
- Write the manual
- QC manual
- Send the manual out for printing
- Packaging according to assembly instructions
- Box organization
- Box artwork
- Quality control on kit contents to ensure everything is in the kit required for assembly

All of this and more with a total of three Factory employees in Hong Kong and myself in the States. Since August 15th has been 53 "working" days since starting production, Synergy Hong Kong has a typical five day work week.

This is an excellent analysis and very much appreciated. Not that you need to share this information but it really helps people like myself understand what is involved with the release of a new kit. More importantly, you guys never gave an official release date and you made zero promises that you could not keep.

Unlike most other companies, the fact that you are willing to communicate with us on various levels makes me want to do business with you. Keep up the excellent work!
