i dumped my 2100/3154 setup last week. it was ok in FFF...but, would drift BAD in fast backward flight. i dinked with it for weeks.

finally just gave up and put the 401 back on (with the same 3154) and it's rock solid.

may have just been me. but, i could not get the 2100 to hold.
if it ain't broke, break it.

The 2100 has to be set up in rate mode

i set it up in rate mode just fine. set the endpoints. everything by the book. it should have worked. it just doesnt.

a buddy of mine put a 3500 on his and it holds. but, that's more weight than i wanted to add...plus i already had a 401 on the shelf.
if it ain't broke, break it.

on the 2100, the inside has no dampening. Its just the board and might move a bit inside. I would pop her open and put a peice of gyro mounting foam inside

Im running the Align gyro with a JR3500g and the balance is spot on and I cant imagine my tail being any more solid. I absolutely love this setup. It was a "Brown Out" not me.

Cudaboy,

I would recommend you try one of your Spartan gyros. I ended up getting one and shortened the wires. It's a nice setup.

I have a JR 290 and it holds pretty well. I do some hurricanes and funnels. I do some but not a lot of backwards flying. You might be able to blow out the tail using the 290 but I haven't yet.

I'm using the stock align gyro with JR 3500, working great, I can do everything with no problem.

I might give the 290G a chance since it's lighter.

From those running 401/DS290 combos, where did you end up on gain in hh mode? I've historically been very nervous with anything less than 40% on this gyro and can't get it above 23% without wag at 75% throttle...Son, before you can soar with the eagles you have to learn to sh** with the chickens

I´m using 401 with 9650, the servo/gyro is a litle big but perform great, the logictech 2100 dont hold very well the tail even using the 3000.. servo combo, i'm waiting for the 290 jr servo to reduce some weight...i will test this combo and write the results..Finally I have a Turbine heli.. :) Mobb Powercat !!

FYI I discovered that using the governor version of the helimode is NOT helpful in getting the tail still. I went back to std heli mode (no gov, just soft start up) and picked up 18 percentage points on gain changing NOTHING else.

Gov mode on this ESC is no bueno.
