I think it is the bearing block as well, I just thought it was odd, that align changed them, or "improved" them. I think the clutch assembly that definitely flex, its nearly the same size as the 600 setup. It just cant handle the torque of the 90s.

I say its Multiple things, maingear is WAY to flimsy, you can actually push it so it go oval, so the combination will strip gears, I stripped mine with very little load, I dont think the clutch house moved in that manouver when it stays put at 10 times higher load without issue.Gone fishing..or hunting..or something

Using non shouldered screws for the motor mount and clutch stack will allow for some adjustment to make the mesh tighter. You would need to grind a bit of the "nipple" on the clutch stack bearing housing (which locks into frame)so it can be pushed back. Prior to doing this my mesh was way off however using the method above I now have perfect mesh. So far so good.

Follow the link below and follow the directions. Everything shown can be made at home if you have extra carbon laying around. This with the new gears should prove well I assume...better than stock for sure.

Lol, I had zero backlash on mine when It stripped, so in other words, that aint gonna help, well in some extent, yes, but not permanently.

Probably gonna make you wear out your bearings fast instead, I know that from my electrics.

Wow.

I assumed it was a mesh problem. When building mine the mesh was way off so a fix had to be done. It definitely cant hurt to fix the mesh but lets hope the problem is found and a sure fix comes out.

I'll keep flying mine as is without further mods to see how it does.

Is right. the -1 means its a new revamped part. you can tell how many times Align upgraded something buy the -# after every part # you can see some have none but a lot on the 600 has a -2 r even -3

The new gear is larger in diameter? If that is the case, how do those(like me) fit them in when the old ones have perfect meshing? Typical align- upgrades that fix old problem, create new problem and need more upgrades to fix issue caused by upgrade parts.

Is the new main gear really larger? Or is it just thicker?

What I would like to purchase for nothing more then peace of mind is the new/updated Align 700 main gear, and the Tom Jones Alum clutch mount. I think from reading all the posts this combo would resolve 99.99% of the main gear stripping issues.

While a CNC main gear would be nice, I think it probably won't justify the cost of making one. Look at the Synergy CNC main gear for example, $55 retail. For that price you can buy 6 Align molded gears for the price of one CNC.
