Be patient guys, George has 2 young children who have been in hospital, so they need to be sorted before us oldies & our AP requests.

Mine arrived yesterday. Haven't tried it yet.
No instructions included.
There are two output leads marked 1 and 2, and one input. There's also what appears to be a reset button and a LED indicator on the box.
Anyone tested it yet?

Thanks gjestico. Downloading all the vids as I write this. Very exciting!

Has no one tested it in flight yet?

Hi All..

Kids OK. That was a few weeks ago. Thanks for your concerns.

Picloc-TR:

Haven't sent any Manuals or other stuff with the package as a workaround regarding certain countries customs/duty issues.
Posted items have been mostly labeled as R/C camera controller... not too far away from truth

Setup of the Picloc is being perceived as difficult, but after a couple of tries, most are saying it pretty straightforward and intuitive. Some are reporting an issue with mounts that are rigidly mounted to the helicopter chassis, or mounts that are not vibration isolated at motor revs.

It is a fact that the motor vibrations are badly affecting the IMU, and I am trying my best to resolve the issue. There may be need for a complete board re-design altogether with a better gyro instead of the current MEMS one used, which is pretty good and low drift by itself.
I am trying however to find an even simpler solution for B-testers.

For those testing, please also check whether your Video downlink TX also influences the IMU with RF interference.
A special conductive plastic case may be then required, or simply wrapping the unit in some baking foil, and grounded with a wire to -ve or chassis.

I take full responsibility for my design fault/s.
May I remind you that this is still a beta project and these quirks are to be ironed out. That said..I hope you have fun setting it up.

BTW.. hats off the AceBird who was very keen on the vibe issues(although of a different range) a couple of pages down this thread.

It is an easy call George, vibration is what plagues us all on any heli. Add a camera and the problem grows ten fold. Hope you can solve it.

Shot with V1 of Picloc. Heli was being tossed around in the wind but the IMU did it's job.

Sounds great, has anyone modified an Airfoil Mini-Pro 1 mount to allow Georges IMU to work on it or is it not worth the hassle?

It's just that I have a mini-pro at the moment but would love to be able to use one of these IMU's. Looking for options.

CRCR.. PM sent.

@all .. any pics or clips showing the little boxes in action appreciated !!

A workaround for the very high frequency vibes issue is to select
Menu 8,3 at its max value.

Just wondering how the testing is going on this product. I am looking at possibly getting a unit to stabilise a small video camera on a UAV that I have built.

Yes.. about 2-4 weeks time I should have the new design Picloc-TRv2 ready.
Hope it won't take too long to finalize.

keep it up
Hi George,
Just wanted to say that here is another presumable customer, standing by for your new version.
If you need more beta testers, i might be able to contribute.

I also want to encourage you to cater for the radio energy interfearence issues that you mentioned earlier. Building it with a good degree of RF immunity i simply a very good idea, considering the presence of video and telemetry transmitters involved in AP.

So keep the good work up, George - you have many supporters!

/ Tomas
