Hi Markus
I managed with the two measurements after all because the mount determines where the other line needs to be.

I've also managed to make a belt tensioner by using one of the nice pictures erichevy sent me

Hey Fixit, very nice job in deed.
I have a question for you.
The tool you are using to cut the alloyd, is a roto-zip or a router?
And what kind of cutting bit are you using?

Thanks

The one I use is a 600w router and the bit is a 6.3mm Micrograin Tungsten Carbide Tipped bit, both are for joinery work but they did this job with ease or was it me

Putting a generator on this baby will be hard. The only place I can see that will work will be another tail rotor gear and bearing block set up out the front towards the servos. The frame set will ahve to be modified to allow for the 3m bolts.

I've seen the Gem generator mounted on the start shaft, removing the one way so it turns all the time. Ron

Well I hadn’t thought about a generator but now you’ve brought it up I wonder if I can connect it too the belt tensioner?

I found a few more bits needed replacing so out came the router again.

It worked pretty well I thought.

Awesome. You can do just about anything with a router not just woodworking
What kind of material are you using for that Fixit?
Cheers

I’m liking the router more and more for this hobby that’s for sure but I hated using it in woodwork because it usually meant setting jigs up first.
What kind of material are you using for that Fixit?
I scrounged it when I bought the laminated sheet for the 600 gasser frames, it was just lying on the counter and I thought it looked useful so I asked if I could have it, I’m not sure but I think its called derlin.

very easy, it is just that the swash is at 45deg angle from what you usually see. just follow the manual, if you decide you want ccpm in your SE, i have the CCPM kit by Robbe to convert it. Ron

just follow the manual,
I have and the manual doesn’t tell me what swash setting to use so I doubt it will tell me what servo goes to what receiver Chanel. Told you I needed pictures

Hi Fixit,
Here you have some pictures, first 2 pics are with servo horn and bellcranks "level" 0 degree pitch.(front servo=pitch, second servo= elevator, third servo= roll

2 pictures giving elevator forward, (swash tilts to the left/front) left/front bellcrank pulls swash down and right aft bellcrank pushes swash up.(elevatorservo-horn turns right)

2 pictures giving right roll.(swash tilts to front/right)
left/aft bellcrank pushes swash up, and right/front bellcrank pulls swash down (rollservo-horn turns left)

System 88 ?
I followed the manual today when I wasn’t feeling so tired and negative after spending too much time on this Heli
Hotwings and Markus
you were both right, it’s not that complicated if you read the manual and make a 20mm swash tool , most of the swash links are none adjustable so it’s pretty much set up from the start, I just need to fine tune it and its done.
One problem I had was finding some balls with a long enough thread to go through the servo plate and arm

Should these control levers be at 90 when the servos are at mid stick?
Also I haven’t had the pitch gauge on it but I can tell it’s not at 0 pitch when at mid stick, what would O adjust to get it right?

Hi Eric
Well as you can see I’d managed to set most of it but thanks for the pictures, I don’t have the link between the servos and it wasn’t showing it in the manual, have you added this yourself?

Hello Fixit,

The link your talking about comes with some system88 as standard, My Futura's have it , but then again
the Nova Cuatro with system88 as well doesn't have any link new out of the box. You might get a bit more precission with the link, if you
have some slope in the ballinks.

Best regards

Markus

Yes, I added that one.
I think it used to be on the older "goldie" futura's.
it looks like it's deleted now, not a must have, but it felt right and it more solid like this.
I should have the pitch push pull something to add later.

Eric.

OK, I will try and add the link before go any futher with the set up.

Another slight mod I made today
I put the nitro fan shroud in the oven while the wife was out until it became limp and sloppy then I clamped it round a block of wood cut to the size of the Zenoah Barrel.

I hope it fits

I was offered a CCPM kit for the Futura what do you think to them? Personally I'm looking forward to flying this system as I've such good reports about it.
