Sat Schedule
Free Waffle Breakfast 7am to 9am on Sat Morning, then a pilots meeting then open flying...

Come on down and burn some fuel.

Morning was ok, a bit of wind that turned into rain showers off and on throughout the afternoon, which led to a heli repair session inside the barn with heat and hot drinks.

Will post pics here in a few....

Forecast for Sat is going to be great....

Whatever, put it back together & just fly it

No photos today....was shivering so bad could not hold the camera. Utah is not kind to us Arizonians...

Got three quick flights in this morning before the weather hit. Spent the day catching up with everyone.

Eek and the crew showed up about 2 I spend most of the day rebuilding a 450 that as the sun was going down eek and I went out and flew a predator and re-maidened the 450. So the day wasn't a complete loss... Tomorrow should be the bomb though!

Kickin it - flybar style.

The weather is perfect this morning. Not a cloud in the sky and zero wind. Should be a great day

It was a great day until the wind kicked up at around 6 pm, still plenty of flight time. I think there was a record set for crashes, last count was 10. Tomorrows weather should be great.

2009 April Fools Fly In in the books
Well the 2009 April Fools Fly In is in the books, this year’s event was a great success.

Peg and I would like to say a HUGE Thanks, to the pilots that made the trip despite the crappy weather on the way down, and to our sponsor that even in a bad economy stepped up and provided some great items for the pilot’s raffle.

I would like to say a very special thanks to all those people that presented me with my helicopter so that I could get back to flying, Thanks to “EEEEKY” Hurley for the helicopter and getting the idea rolling Century Helicopters for the body parts and Jim I., Marc K., Duane B. and the others for the guts & graphics. I am looking forward to getting some flying in very soon, and being able to hover for the next event…maybe Lehi?

We are so glad to put on this event, and look forward to seeing you all again real soon..

P.S. The total count for the 4 days was the loss of 15 Heliz.

Thanks for a great weekend

Another successful year, Thanks to Doug and Peg for the hard work!

It was great to see Troy, Brian, Matt and Jim, and nice to meet some new friends.

It was neat to see that the heater in my truck actually works and is not just a decoration. We came home to 84 degrees and we finally thawed out.

I will post photos this coming weekend, I have a few good ones, oink oink.

OK guess crash needs to give his post of the event.
For the first funfly back in over 10 years ago, Im happy to report that I regret taking such a long break.

Great flight area, dust not an issue, very polite hosts, going out of their way to make you feel at home "thanks Doug and Peg", and for the pilots that showed up, and for the great carnage that happily myself adding Twice, and most of all the spirit of the heli hobby still alive and strong, I myself had the best time in a very long time.

Just the time I had with my son, "while I was not busy crashing", was great to have him along, all the way home kept asking if today I was getting him his electric heli.

To Hayes, spackerman, eeeky, Ben, Duane, and so many others thanks for making this great for me and my son, even though my son got banned from taking any more chicken eggs, he also kept asking on the way home when is the next funfly.

To eeeky and Ben thanks for showing me I can still build a heli worthy of great and crazy pilots. crazy great way.

Last word, thanks hayes for showing me the true power of the YS
And to Jesse, "told you would like that extreme".
And yes guys all my header tanks are upright.

This hobby sucks, when your not flying.

Finally made it home! What a spectacular weekend! I think I saw more carnage in two days than I have EVER seen at a Heli fly before. Met a few new people in person and missed a few familair faces but a great opening weekend! Yeah Mark I am pretty sure your 600 is a rain magnet! I got some good pics and video of some of you I'll get them sorted and posted!

Kickin it - flybar style.
