started to put the Align 500 back together. could not get the head apart because both of the grub screws holding the flybar onto the flybar cage are both stripped at the hex insides. Ill have to drill them out or dremmel the flybar cage off or something.

So I went and did some video editing. After about 30 minutes, software locked up when I did some funky clicking and PC rebooted. DOHP, forgot to save. that's it for the night........

Came back from b-ball practice to see the mailman. YEA, parts are in....NOOOO they are not. Looked at the tracking # on USPS.com only to realize I had let it to my default shipping address, my work which is closed on Sat No parts till Mon.

Went as far as I could on the 500 till the gears arrive on Monday.
I found something though. I took an AR7000 Rx that came off my spitfire and was binding it. Well, the Rx kept resetting. Then I realized it was doing it as I was moving it around. I found that the servo connector for the UBEC was faulty. The crimps to the pins or the pins themselves were bad. I cut them off and crimped on new connectors (I just recently got the parts and tool to do this). It's better now. I bet that AR6200 has nothing wrong with it. I'm going to put it back into a 450 I have set up for sport flying and try to fly it as much as I can in the comming weeks.

Buddy from down the street was here playing on the airplane sim for about an hour. I'm working to get him to buddy box with me so I can have full authority to go flying on the weekend and the wife can't say NO to Mr. Joe...

I thought i posted about the heli. But i had it going and i was powering up and it decided it does not want to fly. A servo horn stripped out on the elevator. (the heli was not even up to speed.) The elevator servo horn stripped. Well the screw was half way out. But it got the tail boom, belt, tail grips, blades, feathering shaft, main shaft, flybar, the gear for the belt, rod holder, horizontal fin.

man that sucks, sorry to hear about that one.But atleast that wont happen to you again, you'll check every screw, nut and bolt from now on.when you are swingin blades that big even the smallest screw matters.chalk it up to a learning experience, wait for your parts, and try again.I've been fighting with my 50N for a while but I aint giving up any time soon

I pulled a 450 out of mothball to use to test fly an AR6200. It has an intermittant tail twitch. Tail jumps about 10-15 degree rotation. I know the motor is cheap on it and heating up. Gonna swap that out with an Align 430L I have first. Not sure if it's the tail servo or oneway bearing. I did not hear the headspeed change so I sort of suspect it's the tail servo. I sure hope it's not the Rx. Maybe I'll just swap the tail servo instead. I'll decide tonight or tomorrow.
I was a bit dissapointed when it was twitching on me this morning. It did not do it for the 3 flights yesterday and I was really interested in doing some relaxing flying this morning in the cold but resolved to just hover 1' up for 2 packs instead.

I video'd a buddy's maiden of his Parkzone P-38. It flew fine but needed more trim. We were very suprised it even took off with the tiny wheels on our grass field.

Anyone have a Parkzone Typhoon2? I'm looking for a park flyer and not sure if I'm going to keep using the EPP foam Sukhoi or not. The sukhoi gets squirrely when the EPP & Hot glue joints heats up and comes out of my car all warped.

The wind was calm yesterday morning, so I decided to try
hovering my king2 tail-in inverted (been doing nose-in fine for a few months now). Managed about ten seconds or so before crashing it.

Took it home, replaced the stripped maingear, broken motor
shaft and pinion, straigthened the flybar, took it out
again for another flight.

Flipped it over to try hovering again. It slowly fell to the
ground. I've set the transmitter to 0 pitch flat on idleup
while doing the repair and forgot to set it back! So my morning
repair only lasted a few seconds before another crash.

Broke the canopy, bent the boom, flybar and the feathershaft,
but the new maingear was unharmed!

I should do a test hover in the backyard before taking it
to the field again.

I've flipped inverted twice now w/o hitting idle up. One recovery, one crash.

Still looking at the intermittant wag. Swapped motor and tail servo, still wags. Gyro is a futaba converted GY240 to 401 and has about 50 flights on it I think. It jumps only in the first 2 minutes of flight, then smooth after that. Only have about 2600-2700 headspeed on this. Pulled maingear at the field this morning cause I thought I heard some "hitting/pulsating/squeeking" sounds. Sleeve and bearing look good to me. I noticed my boom is bent downwards. Maybe belt is catching and skipping or slapping boom.
I'm planning an inverted stund w/ my buddy and it might crash anyway so I'll just let it go for now.

All future flights I hope will at least be on video.

Tightened the tail belt and flew 2 flights this morning and it was not jumping anymore. This belt according to my logs has about 80 flights and 2 crashes on it. Might be time to change it.

Tried to make use of item and...no luck. It does not want to work for me. Some more options left though, but hopes slowly vanishes.
