gorn , I would use the Medusa research 36-50-810kv V2 motor with a 14/15 tooth pinion and 8s for around 2650RPM`s of some serious power.
I honestly think the Medusa motors are the best motors for the EP8.
And I have tried quite a few different brands of motors for the EP8..

Its the expense thats the killer right now Jimbo.
I can get the Scorpions through work for a good price, that will at least get the QJ flying for the mean time.
I am interested in the Medusa motors though, and will keep them in mind for the 8s setup for sure.
Initially I'll use a Scorpion 880 and my current 6s 2500 30c packs.
Only short term though

Here in OZ things came to a stand still when the importer just disappeared off the face of the earth with not even a goodbye.
Well I sold my EP8 then.
I was just looking on EBay and there is a brand new EP8 kit with a new Rotorworkz frame as well + about 8 pinions + a list of new spares, so you guessed it I am the proud owner of an EP8 again, well for $150 Australian I could not go wrong. Its nice to be back.
Now I have to get back into all the little mods etc

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....

Hi Jimbo, No its only the EP8V2SP but i'm not into 3d at all. I take it your still playing with your QJ helis?
I know that it is not the most and best heli but having had one and for the price I could not resist, I might see if there are any fuses for scale that would fit it.

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....

Main problem I see is the thickness of the boom 21mm on the EP8 and about 15 on the trex500 etc, there for the tail gearbox and boom might not fit in the fuse

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....

EP8EX
Well I did it again, I went on Ebay and bought an EX for a $113 Australian with fiberglass canopy and spares. Now I have to decide weather to keep the SP or sell it. Decisions decisions.
Any things to be aware of with the Ex or that need upgrading/fixing. I want to run 4S as my HDX500 is on 4S, no 3D just sport flying.

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....

WOW!! That is nice!! I think me and you are the only ones with the EP9.
I stole the cyclic servos off my EP9 so I could get my QWW Bat 26cc gasser going. I am going to get me 3 servos so I can get it back flying . I miss it real bad.
I realy like your canopy . Is that a Trex canopy?

One of the best servos for the EP8 are the HS85MG by Hitec. And the best motors for it are the Medusa research, the 36-50-1000kv for 6s1p ... I am flying a 36-50-1000kv on an EX that is 2 years old and it flies like new, very powerful motors ..
