For you the HK 2221-6 V2. I think that ESC has a 3amp BEC. My choice would be the 55amp ESC with a 5amp BEC.

Well I can't figure out why they only put a 3amp BEC. on it? I know Ready Heli has a promo on the HK 2221-8 with that same 60amp ESC. If you are ending up with Digital servos on the heli, I would rather have the 5amp BEC. Plus it's your money!

The other thing with the 55amp ESC. You can run, 2221-6, 2221-8 on 3S and 2221-10 on 4S.

I don't know about the Fuion and Rave, New. The Beam I think is a better Heli then the 450 Trex. I do have 3 Rexs.

Forget the Beam and get the Furion. A little more expensive, no upgrades needed and will outfly any other 450 on the current market.
Go down to the e-Miniature section and look at the posts there.

As a newbie to the electics (Xcell glow person). In refernce to motor and ESC I bought my first electric (8/1/08) on the recommendation of a friend the Mikado 500, 3D with Kontronik 55-10-32,14t pinion, the new Hacker 40L? turbine motor, JR 8717 on cyclic and Old Jr 5000T gyro with 8900G servo and TP5000, 6S batteries. I bought it based on his recommendations and I was impressed it is so smoooth. The only thing he did at the field was set the headspeed for me at about 2000-2100rpm. Everything still running cool after 39flgts. Anyway the question is being an Xcell person I want the Furion 450. the literature talks about a 45amp ESC, but everyone keeps saying a 60amp ESC (55ampere). If I want to run the Scopion 2221, 8-turn motor with the 11t pinion, I would like to target about 2500RPM?, using 325mm SAB or RotorTech blade if they make them, FP Lite 3S 2500mAh pack, JR287 cyclic servos, gyro unknown. What ESC would someone recommend I'd like to use the Kontronik but the cell count is too low unless I use the 45-?-?

You need to run the 13 tooth with the Scorpion -8. The Furion really likes to be around 3000 (I am turning about 3200), you will notice a huge difference in flight performance. I started witht he Scorpion 45 and it works fine, but if you fly back to back hard 3D it can get warm and start shutting down. The new Scorpion 60 amp (actually designed for helis) is better but maybe a bit of overkill. Guys are now using the Scorpion 55 and I haven't seen many reporting issues. But again, if you give it a little time after each flight, the 45 works fine.Team Synergy/Rail, Team Scorpion, YS Engines, VelTye
