I think thats the best radio tray mod yet. I love the Align I beam radio tray, makes mounting things very convenient. I think I may copy your mod the next time I have to redo the radio tray.

Custom Heli Parts will have a new Carbon Fiber adjustable battery tray pretty soon. I had the prototype at IRCHA, needs a bit of tweaking but it should be a nice addition.Have Rotors, Will Fly!

is it a direct bolt on? Looks like you just need to cut the old one for the canopy standoff

Btw Mike, what's up with that cf frameset?

you need to cut the align radio tray to fit between the frames and i drilled the top holes and used the bottom holes that where on the frames already.

i also had to turn the radio around so my outrage 3600 rx pack would fit with the canopy on it.

i dont have cf frames???????

the vbar has a usb cable that plugs into it to program it and i couldnt get it plugged in without cutting it. and after i flipped the tray over from the first pic, i had to cut it on the other side also because when i put my battery on it the first time my battery would hit the front of the canopy so i flipped the tray over and whala.....

Very nice indeed. Ingenious to say at least. As much as I've given up on Align, the radio tray was always something I really liked because it gives you 4 surfaces to attach stuff to it. So basically, how much weight did you saved all around by doing just that swap?

Currently I have everything neat and nice on my vibe with a total weight of 3595gr including 6 servos, regulator, switchglo etc etc. I'm not too worried about weight anymore but I wouldn't mind shaving off another 10-15gr. I'm going to save around 17gr in a couple of weeks as I'm going to replace the stock boom supports with carbon (12gr vs 3.4gr) and re-use the stock ends but taking off a little in the front would be nice too.
