V1 BLADE FLUTTER?
hi please help i have got some kind of blade flutter going on on my rappy 30 v1 . it flies great and then from nowhere the blades go crazy . the blades are tracked spot on but recently i have had to adjust the tracking links almost every flight and i never seem to get long into a flight before it starts. i am not that good at flying yet so am only doing circuits and beginner stuff etc (not 3d)..i have checked swash plate ,all links, and replaced the pitch servo for a new one the head seems undamaged visually and the blades are not to tight or loose ???

thanks

If all else fails, try flipping the grips. It's worked for me in the past and is 1/3 down the page. Keep in mind this was written many years ago before the V-2.

Remove the blade grips, the spindle, bearings and check with the Raptor 30 manual that you have all the bits correctly fitted.
I had a similar problem and it was caused by a missing flapping collar from one side.

Silicon oil for lube - doesn't attack the rubber dampers.

Check out http://www.raptortechnique.com - you may have the infamous Raptor WOOF where the blades go wildly out of track.

My Raptor V1 exhibits a "brrrrrr" noise (no it isn't cold LOL) coupled with a tiny loss of lift when it happens which does seem to be headspeed/engine speed related - it clears at a higher throttle setting, perhaps as if the engine is "on the pipe" - blades appear to track fine throughout.

THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM,RIGHT THERE!

It's a Ferrari Rappy - as such it has inherited Italian temperament and character! Nice vinyls BTW.

Been flying mavrikk blades for 2 years and never have had a problem. There great for the money, Almost never need balanced. Check them out at http://www.heliproz.com it's there overseas brand. The first upgrade you should consider is the flybar aluminum cage, I found the head to be less picky with it. Also a Mavrikk brand.

If you are having to re-track your blades every flight then you have a problem somewhere that is causing the out of track condition. Have you had a crash lately...before this started? Check everything in the head.R50,HYPER50,GY401,TJPro,DX7

I had the same problem for the muffler and this is what i did, I removed the rod that holds the muffler and put a 10/32 rod instead, yes you will have to drill out the holes in the muffler so the bigger rod will fit through then put to standard 10/32 nuts then lock washers on both end then another standard 10/32 nut. Tighten it down then no more muffler coming loose. Bigger hardware will allow you to tighten things more. Don't use nylon lock nuts because the plastic get hot and won't hold anything. I've went through 4 gallons and haven't had and issues. Now to check to so if your feather shafts are good remove your blades take a socket that fits and turn the nut inside the blade grip and watch your grips if they move up and down or side to side there bent replace the feather shaft. I also have a v1 and those shafts are really soft. Buy 6 or so for now these are item's that a newbie will go through. Are you using wood blades?? never had wood blades that where balance. They are always off by a lot. Check the balance of the blades to

Here's another thing I discovered which causes tracking problems during flight, small cracks in the carbon fiber blades on the leading edge. See the photos. As a temporary fix, I covered the cracks with tape and put the same length of tape on the other blade also to maintain balance. I'm not sure if there is a permanent and better solution than tape.
