Bogging XL Motor
I upgraded my 450 from the align 3450 to the align 3700XL motor and it seems this motor is bogging bad during quick and any 3D flight. Why? Im running a 12t pinion and my pitch is 11 deg. pos & neg in throttle up flight. HELP!
OH yea! Im running on flight power EVO 3s 2170 25C packs.

Then bump it up to a 13 tooth pinion. Have you considered it may be your collective management?Team Avant

Is your Speed controller up to the task of delivering those amps to the New motor?

Seems to me that Mooley has a problem and it's not in the pinion gear. His running a 12T. and it's bogging a 13T will make worse. His head speed should be over 3100rpm with the 12T. pinion.
Mooley, what ESC are you running, gov. mode, throttle curve, pitch curve?

Flight powers and Thunder power batteries are infamous for being wonderful packs for the first 20 cycles, then they just suck after that.

My setup which is similar is hard on the packs if I push it...Packs like the Vislero puff after 3-5 cycles...Hyperions have held up well, as have two Neu 2200 3S I purchased a year ago....Heli will pullnabout 350 watts at full collective...13 T would be higher yet...

I am in the same situation Stock V2 setup 13t woodies and have just gotten to the point in my flying abilities that I have noticed bogging on punch-outs. I am looking at upping the head speed but am limited by the woodies AND upgrading my batteries. I feel there are to many people NOT having problems with this setup that it is not the setup.

Help
Thanks for the info guys. Im running a 35a esc. I cant go to a 13t, my headspeed will increase and the bogging might get worse and im flying w/ woodies. Ill try new pacs. My batteries could be getting old so I will get new ones. What are the packs to go with?

Your set up is just fine. I have heard a lot of negs. on Flight and Thunder Power batt. So the choice is yours. I make up my own packs so I can't give you advice on what to get. Just try something with a 20C or better continuous discharge rate or better.
Good Luck!

Great batteries and have the "puff proof" technology.

Performance Rc, Desire Power(hard to get), and outrage are the "same" cells. I have two 25c packs, and they are insane! Plus they arent big and bulky like Kongs.
