700 N converted to E
I have been helping a buddy here in town build and modify a 700 N to a 12 s E.
We put all the best stuff in it 8717, Arizona reg. and so on. It has a Acro 32 3 with a spin 99 speed cont.6s Outrage 5000 sticks. We put the sticks on the sides like the ion 1.They fit nicely under the body so we can move them forward and back to get the cg right. Also by moving the packs up closer to the boom make the roll cg so much better too

I’m talking about a 6 horse machine We broke the 5mm shaft on the motor and now we are testing the 6mm shaft. We are still working on getting the gearing right but it is close were waiting on pinions to arrive to test.

Were running it at 2200 w/14 deg. of pitch. Just sitting on the deck spun up and punch the collective it sounds like it’s going to rip the blades off It’s a real attention getter
So far the main gear has been holding up.In a hover it's smooth as glass We flew it last week end with no problems.I think once we get the right pinion in it were really goin to have something.Way to much fun

I’ll keep you guys posted on our progress.

Sweet! I'm planning to do the same. Is that a custom made motor mount? And what blades are you using?

I'll be using Scorpion 4035-560, PowerJazz and 2x Outrage 6S 5000 lipos.

It's around 8 lbs.W/out batteries.
W/batteries it is right at 11 lbs.

I'll try to get some shots this weekend.

The blades that are on it now are 710 Radix but once we get it dialed we'll put on the 710 Rotertech' s.

just make sure you use a lower kv motor so you can run a bigger pinion for more surface area on the main gear.

Yes this is a custom motor mount made from a block of carbon fiber.

I made a mistake... the Outrage batteries are 6s bricks,we also are trying the Evo 5000 sticks but the Outrage batteries seem to be out performing the Evos

We had to modify the body stand off's a little to accomidate the batteies but it was fairly minor.

I'll get into the reason I like the Jeti speed cont. later when I have more time

Let me understand this:
Ok, take 8 pounds + 2x 6s5000 Outrage packs (750 gr each) or 3 llbs 5 ounces. That's 11 llbs and 5 ounces if the heli is no more than 8 pounds empty. ???

Sounds about right, thanks for taking the time to weigh it.
I'd be happy with 11 1/4 to 11 1/2 pounds. My 700n with a full tank is 11 1/4 it feels light with a 3.25hp engine.

cool. i pulled the trigger on one also. i have a motor mount plate and a 15T pinion on the way. i wouldn't worry too much about the weight. My E Synergy weighs around 11+ lbs and goes like a scalded ape..

Mmmmm, I do, I think 11.25 is about half to 3/4 a pound too heavy, Ive experimented with lighten the load on my E-Stratus & E-Aurora, and just 250 grams make hell of a difference in how the machine handles.

yes, its more powerful then a nitro anyway, but it flies better.

But Im surprised since the commercial for the T700 says 4.2kg RTF without fuel (4.8ish fully fueled), thats normally what target weight I have with electric motor & batteries.
So I was expected around a 4.8kg (10 1/2lb) machine.

Everyone, please post your flight times for each different lipos, what HS and pitch range. I'm undecided between Outrage 4200 and 5000 packs. Smaller one is lighter but get shorter flight times.
