Battery overheat question
Hi
I am using Align 20C 11.1v 2100mAh batteries with mystery balance charger.
I set 70% in thr-curves. I used to set 80% but both overheat.
They are not buffed but they are quite hot after around 4min ~ 6min of flying. Is it normal? Are other brand batteries the same?
How are mystery batteries? I am considering getting mystery batteries. I think they are cheap and reliable.
I know a lot of people suggest getting expensive stuff but I want to find something cheap and good.
I do not want be disappointed by expensive and low quality product . Normally, when I spend a lot of money, my expectation are elevated and if the expectation and the quality do not match, I always regret that I didn’t keep to my philosophy.
I was thinking thunder power equips but thunder power products are too expensive. It’s just a hobby for me and I do not want to spend that much money on it.

Then your going to be sourly disapointed in what you buy.
You need to learn to listen to those with more experiance.

Then perhaps a cheaper type of heli or a differant hobby would be better suited for your budget.

This is an expensive hobby to be in, buying cheap mystery batteries can cause you more problems then you realize.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

cheap and good do not go well in this hobby. there are some more inexpensive things, and then there are quality items. if you want to play, you have to pay. i tried the cheap way, and it has cost me a lot more than the expensive up front charge. a $40 battery sounds good, till you only get 15 cycles and have to buy a new one. if you spent the $65, and got 100 cycles, then its much cheaper to pay it up front.ten grand in helis and all i can do is hover

You might want to rethink your gear ratio's and headspeed. I have found that running a low throttle curve like that leads to the overheat of batts and ESC. Unless you are flying REALLY hard, those batts should work fine....with the right setup.

Very well said!

It's the cold hard truth!
I had a owner of a LHS tell it to me straight!
"Bring cash or your checkbook, we don't take American express here"
Be it Nitro or Electric, this is a sick addiction and like any addiction it costs!
Lessons learned many years ago, Now I don't ask-Just friggin order it!
It sounds like the gear ratio's are eating it up...

But they do take Visa, I have the bills to prove it.
If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.
