balancer for kong power lipos
Just bought two kong power 2S1P 1800 mah lipos and an align 2 in 1 regulator for my caliber 5. I guess I didnt enough hw, but I bought a blinky balancer to balance them and the pins dont match. Does anyone know if the thunder power adapter would let me balance these kong power batteries? If not what balancer should I get. I use a triton jr. charger. Also, I need to put connectors on my batteries and change the connector on the 2 in 1. If I use deans connectors is it alright that the battery leads are 14 awg and the align leads seem to be around 18 awg. Is that alright?

Thanks guys
Jeff

idigrc2 - What charger are you using? I can charge Kong batteries with my 610c but I can not use the TP balancing tap, but I can use one of the others made for Chinese made packs.

I guess my Kong pack are about 8 month old, to the newer Kong pack come with TP taps?
If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

I just received 2 2200mAh 25C and 2 2200mAh 30C Kong power packs last weekend. They have TP taps on them and work fine on my 610 charger.
The one thing I did notice is I was using FP 2170's before and the Kong's are quite a bit larger and heavier. Though the 30C ones are a little lighter than the 25C ones.

Regards,

Tim

As to the guages of the wires, as long as the wire guage on your battery is the same or heavier than your regulator you will be fine. If the leads from your battery were 18 and the leads to the regulator were 14 I would say you might have an issue then. Otherwise, the 18 guage wires wont be 'drawing' more than the 14 guage wires can provide.I fly.....because I can.
