Both are good. Do you want a front mount, or underslung? I own a Copterfilms Cf-30, but I used to own a mark iv.Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

I 've talked to Victor(copterfilms) on frequent basis ,
his email communication has been top notch. He takes pain to understand your requirement. He never pushes his product on to you. Personally I like his engineering and design sense.

( I have not dealt with HCS yet, )

I too have dealt with Victor. His service and the quality of his products are stellar. You will be quite pleased with your decision if you decide to go this route.

I have never delt with Victor but have with HCs, their service was top notch also.
Sounds like both products are service oriented.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

I have an HCS XL mount that I bought from some one here on runryder when it was a couple months old. Its a Nice mount, but if you want a HCS mount, you need to buy it new from Jody or you will not get any support from him if you crash it. Your basically stuck with a crashed mount that you will have to make your own parts to fix it. Ive learned that since Ive bought mine second hand.

In not interested in a crash warranty. I would just want to know that parts are available if needed (retail, regardless if by the original purchaser or not). If you are crashing these....you should be investing your money in another simulator

I guess if support and parts are important...... Victor's "International" support looks like it sets the standard!!

Parts and support are always important in my humble opinion, even though I buy everything direct from the maker when feasible!

Regardless of how good you are you can still crash. Parts do fail sometimes on rc helicopters. All im saying is if you buy an HCS second hand you can not even BUY parts from HCS for your mount to fix it. I asked Jody if he would SELL me parts in the future just in case I had an incident with my mount and he told me to get my aluminum at Home depot and cut it myself and I would have to order the other plastic stuff online and cut it out myself like for the gimbal, etc. It can be kind of hard on the second hand buyer if you dont have the tools to cut these things out to fix your mount. Ive never complained to any one about this but I think he should at least sell parts for his mounts. His whole thing is he said he didnt make any money off of me because I bought it second hand used so he wont support me "fixing it for free" and I UNDERSTAND THAT so I asked if he would sell me the parts in the future and support me that way and he said no...so I have no support from him.

HCS
Really sorry to hear that about HCS. I have 2 of their mounts I purchased used, I like their product but not so sure I would buy another after hearing this.
I can not think of any other product where I would have to buy new, before I could purchase their parts.
If that is their policy, I can respect it, just disappointed.
I am not a second class citizen because I bought used

Maybe off topic a bit.

But it's entirely easy and satisfying to build your own mounts. Whether it be a simple pan/tilt front mount, or a 3 axis, gyro stabilized mount.

You'll spend some time and efforts coming up with a design you like, but it's pretty fun and rewarding to build something specific for your needs. In my opinion anyway.

As long as you don't call with an attitude you won't have any problem getting parts for your mount if needed.

TopShotAerial left out of his story that I rebuilt his "XL" mount for free except for the highly customized gimbal which was totaled. I offered to rebuild the gimbal back to original for $200 but he got upset because I would not do it for "Free". He also got upset when I would not pay for shipping it back to him.

I have to admit, I am human and I got an attitude also when I told him to fix it himself with the next crash.

One bad apple caused me to make the decision to only fix original customers mounts for "Free". I received a crashed mount in the mail last year and I rebuilt it and sent it back. I did not recognize the person who sent the mount so I traced it back to the original customer. I called the customer to find out why he did not send it and he said he did not know that I repaired the mounts for free. He sold it dirt cheap because it was crashed and was very upset and felt he was taken for a ride. I talked with the person who bought the crashed mount and sent it to get rebuilt. He was quite proud that he made such a good deal!

I modified my policy the next day.

Oh so thats why? You had gave me another reason why you didnt sell parts because you said every mount you make is different and the parts are different. I did not try to get you to pay for shipping! And I was very polite and proffesional with you until you tried to take advantage of me with the $200! Im sorry we had a disagreement and your feelings were hurt because you said their was no thankyou letter in the box. You know I didnt want the gimbal for free, we talked about all that, I offered to pay for the materials to fix it but you had an attitude the whole time and wanted $200 for labor for just the gimbal so I said just send the mount back like it is and you sent it back in pieces which I have to put together. I took the blow here. My mount still isnt fixed. It cost me 80.00 in shipping and I NEVER tried to get you to pay for shipping! Idk why you are saying that. But anyways, I was nice to you and ended everything on good terms with you and thanked you even though I was dissapointed.Didnt I? I can make most parts I need. I dont hold any hard feelings against you Jody, just dissapointed. You need to support and sell parts to people with used mounts. Thats the right thing to do! Thats all I was asking for anyway, I had let all the other stuff go because I understood.

And im sorry for this thread to turn into this. The topic is HSC vs. copterfilms not all this stuff.
