Jeez... You guys looking for a good flyer or a good crasher? If the thing hauls-ass in the air, what's the problem?
Crash a Lambo or a Bugatti and see how it holds up... NOT cheap cars, cost an arm and a leg to maintain/fix, but perform like a raped-ape!

I think some folks here want the ultimate helicopter. I know in my case every heli out there can do stuff I cant. So my skills are the limiting factors and I suspect most of the people on this forum are in the same boat. So it comes down to simply buying whatever floats your boat....

OK....Lets have some college kids majoring in mechanical engineering
design a cage around the heli that protect all of the parts in a crash. Would be nice for training when first starting out.

Equivilent to a roll cage in a race car...You heard it first here unless you show me another thread about a crash cage.

Spent today flying the heck out of my furion and can't help but be impressed.Granted the kit is pricey but you get what you pay for.The kit went together beautiful and the tail is silky smooth. After about 15 batteries today I had a problem,my fault!!After my third pack in a row my bec shut down doing eye level tick tocks and the machine went in.Total damage = Had to re-adjust belt tension and replace a boom brace!!This machine is tough! No bent spindle or broken landing gear. Can't say my trex se held up this well.

Come on, Ken. Give him a break Probably pressed the wrong button.

In my case, I am looking for a electric heli and this might just fit the bill.

RE: FURION
To those who are sketpical as to the strength of the frames, take a t-rex 450 that you don't care about, grab the frames and twist them till they crack, then take a furion and try it, it is alot harder to do it. The frames are thicker than the t-rex frames. The bird flies better than a 450, and has zero slop. As for the canopy many of my customers say when they crash their birds, "I wish I had a plastic canopy rather than a fiberglass canopy." So far I have had two of my customers put in orders for the furion. They also have t-rex 450's.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion. But to make a judgement based upon the parts in the box is not truly given this bird its due. I would suggest anyone on the fence about this bird, try it out before they make a decision against it.
I remember when people used to make fun of the pantera 50 heli, after flying it myself I didn't feel the same anymore. By far the strongest heli I have flown. I planted it in full throttle from 200 feet. The damage was laughable. I wouldn't want to do that with a 600n. From the box it just looks like another plastic heli, but when you put it together its a different story. Don't judge a book by its cover, or for that matter the size of the box. I have read people commenting on the size of the packaging. So you automatically assume because the box is smaller its not as good. What happens when you buy cereal in a box and it settles, does it mean the cereal sucks!

Hopefully the majority will use common sense rather than hysteria to make their decisions.

I will post pics of my bird at some point when i have time.

Hey folks,

I've got the scorpion 55A esc, and iam stuck on this "Motor acceleration time" i would assume i should set this to the max time as some sort of soft start.

I see that the canopy mounting post is screwed to the carbon frame. Can the frame crack/break in you crash land on the mounting post?, or this is a non issue due to the thickness of the frame.

HFG,typically motor acceleration time sets the ability of the speed control to change motor speed i.e. throttle setting. The faster response time the better performance at the cost of flight time.Soft start should be a setting of it's own.I'm not sure on the scorpion controllers as I have not used one, but this is how the align,e-flite and castle controllers operate.Hope this helps. All these micros somehow turned my 450 into my BIG machine!?!?!?

matnikon,I don't see this being a problem do to the fact that there is alot of material in this area and the frames are thick. Not only are the frames 40% thicker than on the T-rex but MA uses a higher quality carbon than we see on other machines. The carbon on the Align products seems to be very "airy" for lack of a better word,or alot less dense than on MA products.Un-like some I was very impressed when I felt how stiff the single frames and small carbon parts were, and the finished frame assembly is stiffer than most glow heli's.On top of that bolt on the very flexible landing gear and I don't see anything to worry about. All these micros somehow turned my 450 into my BIG machine!?!?!?

Skidzup i understand the functionality of the motor acceleration but in the case of a heli where your TC is flat or near flat it should only come into play during spool up. I was just curious what others where doing, thanks for the reply.

I remember a Rave going in at IRCHA while Botos was flying it. If I remember correctly, it broke frames among many other things.

I guess with the cheaper price of the Rave, it'll give you extra cash to stock up on spare frames with.

I think he means it is the same carbon used on the stratus. Unlike the carbon used on "other" brands of 450.
