Blah, blah, blah, blah......

Thank you for YOUR opinion. Most serious pilots will appreciate the quality and realize that they won't have to upgrade the Furion. I LOVE the plastic canopy. My Raptor that I bought 5 years ago is still going strong while every time I crash the fiberglass canopy on my 600e I have to spend 38 dollars on the canopy and 22 dollars on the stickers

here you go
the frames on the furion 1.40 mm

the frames on the trex 0.98 mm

when you put this heli together it feels very strong! dont knock it by looking in the box, put it together and fly one, thats where the proof is. sound like the people at the LHS where just poking at it like a dead fish.

hey put that canopy together, its look awesome.

i have trex 450s, and i will take the furion over the 450 trex any day. its one sweet ride.

i think you will be sorry the you did not get this heli. the poking the fish thing will not help anything.

kinda like my kids with all do respect, it goes like this

(bree)my kid, why did you not eat that? she said, i dont like them, i say, have you tryed them? and she said no!

go figure!

i have broken many frames on the 450 trex, and every other heli i have put in, but helis are for flying, not crashing, thats why they sale parts for them.

i will also give the rave a spin to. i will put it together and fly it before i do any bashing.

and the furion is nothing to laugh at, thats for sure! i am now laughing at my trex compared to furion, in so many ways. the only thing the trex has got on the furion, is that it comes with a FG canopy, but i fly with out a canopy most of the time anyways, so im good. and if you look hard anuff, you can pick it up for around $400.00 to 425.00

Wow, sounds like they really hit a home run with the $33.99 plastic canopy and 3.00 bucks for grommets! What is Beam thinking selling there for $10.99 with grommets. Yes, many owners may say it is a nicer canopy. But $22.00 better? Don't get me wrong I like the heil a lot may end up with one. But come on, seems every owner is in LOVE with the canopy. Even if it was the best canopy ever made someone would be unhappy. What gives, brand loyalty? P.S. I sold my Beam for a Furion or Rave so no need to go there...thanks!

Okay, just put my Furion on the scale. 1.971 lbs with a FlightPower EVO Lite 2500 mah pack. The battery itself was .43 lbs, so that is 1.5 lbs less battery. I don't know how that compares to a Trex.Team Synergy/Rail, Team Scorpion, YS Engines, VelTye

I guess I'm not quite catching your post.

Is it in favor or against which one?

Please be more specific...seriously.

I sold it more for the Rave with TT tail drive, dual bearing pitch slider on the tail and being able to use 350mm blades. I also like the clean look of tail servo mounted in the frame. But if they don't ship soon I will give the Furion a try. The only reason I can see that would make it better than the Beam is the head. My Beam had some play in the swash and washout block. I hope the canopy is not as narrow as the beam. Very small in sky and a bit of a pain to slide on once battery is connected.

This thread is pretty funny. Glad you aren't buying the kit ... more for the rest of us that know how to fly and appreciate a great heli.

Hard to believe an IT Administrator crying over the price of this kit. (USNA) If you're not going to build it and give it a fair chance, please move on because you're not adding any valve to this thread except insulting the people who know and appreciate the quality of Miniature Aircraft's products. Clearly, you never will.

I did not read any personal insulates in my post. Why the unfounded comments on me not knowing how to fly?
Im 100% certain it was directed at USNA.

keep up with the program

As far as the tail servo mounted in the frames on the Rave, with the Furion, yes it is mounted on the boom, but on a sliding mount. If you have to adjust the boom for belt tension, you DON'T have to re-adjust the TR pushrod, as it moves with the servo and the boom.
Nice feature.

But that is one of the cool things about the TT drive, no belt to adjust, no need to slide the boom.

I'm not a big fan of any t/r belt system. To me, it seems power robbing although I'm not sure if there is any truth to that.

yes it will rob a little power, but just a very little its not to bad
tt do have there good sides, but also have the there bad just like anything else, the good thing i like about the belt is that if you put the tail down rough you will be fine, i shoot alot of autos with my 450s so it works out for me.

Im sure i will be giving the rave a spin, i really want to see how good the tail holds up.

i was talking to CY last week about the rave and saying the the head will be able to get 15+15- pitch and 15-15+ cyclic, now thats good stuff right there!. i would love to give it a spin.

but also i was poking around on both helis, the rave has slop in the tail and head and furion does not. now to be fair about this,it was a heli that looked like it had a lot of flights on it. i will see when i get my hands on it.

oh yea, taking the servos in and out of the rave will suck compaired the furion, but every thing has its ups and down. and thats every heli.

but just one more thing my furion is a little sweetheart!

I just got a kit in the mail and assembled th emain frame. First off, it is not laughable. The frame is very strong. Dare I say it is better than a trex 450. The next nice observation is that I did not strip a single screw or head of a screw. We all know this plagues the trex 450. The aluminum is a bit nicer too.

The canopy is different than what I thought it was. I was expecting the very cheep plastic that I get with my logo 500 canopy. Nope... It is much stronger. It is the same plastic the raptor canopies are made of.

That is all for now.

Nice Eyefly
I will have mine on Monday. Everyone has a right to their opinion, I can understand the thoughts that perhaps the Furion doesn't represent the best value in the 450 class.

Then again there is no denying this is a very well engineered machine, and it is manufactured, and marketed by a company located in North America!

So far, my only heli experience has been with 50 class internal combustion powered machines manufactured in China. Parts support has been spotty, and I have dealt with aggravating little quality issues that can drive you outa your ever loving mind.

When the manufacturer does finally get around to fixing a problem the upgrade path has been on the expensive side, rather than replacing faulty/poor quality parts as should be the case.

I'm really looking forward to a step up the quality ladder! Just one man's opinion.

Yeah i built my kit the other day. Its VERY VERY VERY light, makes the trex and G5 look like heavy weight. But that comes at a cost, everything is built to fly not crash Its a very nice kit but do keep in mind this heli will not make a good beater heli. It will however do things in its own way and will be a great addition to my 450V2 and G5 fleet.
