That's exactly what I did, guess I lucked out and did it right on my own.There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

yep - tried my own fix, the "zip tie some fuel tubing on" doesn't work, it make the bundle too thick so it interferes even more with the ceramic. Then I read the tech note from HH/JR. Routed the wires per the note, all is well. Another guy here in Omaha called me to say he's got copper showing

EDIT: BTW, I think the reason mine wasn't too bad (didn't go through the insulation) is because I may have disturbed the wires when I first purchased the radio. I opened it up to tighten the gimble springs down - like 'em tight

My red wire is cut half way. What an absolute PITA. If that sent my turbine down I’d be on a warpath.
