Range Problem Using A Futaba R138DP
Have had to change the receiver in my Raptor 50 since movong back to UK. (72mHz to 35mHz). Tried to do it on the cheap and went for FM instead of PCM that I have always used before. On doing a range check I get no more than 20yards, ariel down before the servo's start to twitch. I also notice the servo's twitch when I connect the glow plug heater or indeed touch any metal object on the remote glow connector or engine! This varies depending how close the radio is at the time. (I guess this is part of the range issue??) Never experienced anything like this before. Do you think the receiver is faulty? I am using the correct dual conversion crystal.

You should get at least 30 meters.
FM was always troublesome for me, probably because I had a single conversion FM. I would always go for PCM with futaba, as their FM has no failsafe.
