Converted 60v2 into 90 3D flies.....WOW!
Good Golly,

I tooked a used, beatup Raptor 60v2 that I bought 3rd hand here on RunRyder and turned it into an OS70 powered Raptor 90 3D and I LOVE it! I doubt I'll stay with the 70 very long but the first flights today with the full Raptor 90 3D head, 90 tail, blue paddles and Radix 690mm blades was incredible. I cant get over how much smoother and tighter and more precise this heli flies than anything I have owned before including what I thought to be a pretty tight Raptor 60v2. Very happy to have moved from the 50 class machines as my daily fliers to the 60/90 class machines.

If you still run a 60 or 70 sized motor you won't need to change the stock ratio at all which is 9.3 a 80sized YS then change the pinion to a 11 tooth with stock main gear for a 8.45 ratio and if you go full blown 90 motors change to the WHITE 91 toothed main gear and the 11 toothed pinion for a 8.27 ratio. Devide pinion teeth no. into main gear teeth no. and you get the ratio.

Me three!
I have a R60 V2 with an OS 70 and mavrikk muffler and wanted to put a 90 on it since it was a bit of a pig, but I came up to a used MP5 that I threw in it and WOW!!!! what a difference it made.
Now it will stay with the 70.
The problem now is that "I don´t know what to do" with all the extra 90 size parts I've been collecting for it. (BS, I had to assembly a 3rd bird so they don't go to waste).
The problem is that I'll need to keep it in a different room so my wife doesn't realize there's an extra one now!

Hi guys:

What tail blades should be used with the 680's and 690's respectively in the R70?

Thank you very much.

Ok, so this means I can use the 680/105 combination, and the 690/100 combination with the stock R60 boom safely?

Does the 95mm carbon tail blades work ok with 680's and 690's?

Thanks.

Ferincr,
Thanks for the tip on the OS70/MP5!
I had a R90 aluminum chassis around I built for practicing autos, and a spare OS70 I picked up swapping some fixed wing stuff for a 90SE chassis. I threw the 70 in the R90 chassis with a MP5. Running 9.3 gears and about 16,750 on the Rev Lock. It pulls like a rocket ship getting back upstairs!
