Wondering what went wrong with my ys91sr also have a post in avant section as well
So here is the deal, I have a YS91SR in my heli. Was flying it the other day and was doing some basic flips and rolls with it taking it easy. Well thought that I should bring it in and check the fuel level.....ok fuel is low decide to land but before doing so the engine goes lean really lean and dies.

So what I found was the remote glow plug solder joint came loose from heat and the glow plug fried. After taking care of the issues at hand the engine no longer has any compression in it.

Things that I noticed about this engine the head speed would change on its own in normal flight mode while keeping the throttle in one place.

I was running this engine very rich as well mind you.

So wondering as to why the head speed would change while fixed in one spot on the throttle and why did it go lean only thing I can think is it sucked some air and then went lean an burned a hole in the piston ( do not know if there is a hole in the piston have not looked ) So wondering does any of the other ys 91sr changed rpm while in a locked in hover with throttle in one spot??

So I had rebuilt this engine and now it seems as if I shouldve have just bought a new one Which I will be doing. I like the ys 91 lots of power.

Just thought that I would try and get some input back from people here.
Well I think I can fly it..............UH OH OOPS heres your heli.

Either loose carb, common on a new engine, known of 3 come loose in flight. Or the check valve has stuck, causing a lean run, both my SR's i run at 40mm from the back plate with 4 coils cut of the spring.Quotes may have been changed for my own amusement

4 coils cut of the spring

Jeff
To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

Because after repeated lean moments i found this the only way to prevent the checkvalve from sticking. Funny thing is i'd never had a problem with the 91ST or the 50ST. By shortening the spring the valve works more crisply, this in conjunction with running the valve at 40mm (same as the 50) rather than 100mm.Quotes may have been changed for my own amusement
