A Few Pic's
Just getting around to getting the camera empty... I ALWAYS forget to take pic's, but I got a few!!!!
I did a walk around on Friday morning... This is the tent that was provided for the Scale guys and the antiques were right next to this one.... with our flying area straight out from the tent.... I know that Darrell worked his A** off to get this to happen and it was GREAT.... Thanks to EVERYONE that made this trip such a pleasure to attend.....

bigwheels it was a pleasure meeting you and a LOT of others from here on RR....

I Hope Mark Doesn't Mind!!!
I pulled these from the pictures that RR took on Saturday... thought it might make it a bit easier for others to see what was going on in the scale area on Saturday..... what an EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! And what a GREAT GROUP!!!!!
And one other thing.... nobody knew at this point that the first picture is actually of the top four finishers!!! (not planned)

i cannot remember his name but i gotta tell ya, he did a marvelous job buildinng that machine and an even better job flying it. it was soo smooth and solid looking. a bumpy landing during the translational landing bent the main mast and kicked him out of the rest of the flight rounds.
Stan you are right about that first pic. i dont know where we were, but the helis sure were sitting in the winners circle when that shot was taken how nice it was to be in the midst of all those nice scale helis under that tent.

Name!!!????????
I know that the Huey driver was Bill ?????? something!!!! Sorry Bill... but I am sure someone will come up with the rest of it.... As Emile pointed out, this was a GREAT looking heli and it was his FIRST scale machine... took him about a year!!! Just think what he will be able to do once he "LEARNS" how to build, paint, takes his time and learns to fly!!!!! (Sorry Bill, I couldn't help myself!!!!) You had to see this machine in the air.... you would have thought he had been flying it for a year PLUS!!!!!

That's my huey. Thanks very much for the compliments. It's first decent flight since detailing it was that Wednesday. I tried to rush and get it done by the Jamboree. Mike Rose helped me make the flying look smoother and had me try my first contest. Sorry I think I accidentally referred to him as Mike Ellis twice at the event. He also helped debug some issues I had with it last year when it was still in primer. He talked me into trying the flybar weights and I like them. But at 43 pounds you don't have a choice but to fly it scale or it bites you. As witnessed by my landing. They told me not to worry about landing in the circle and of course that means I need to land in the circle. But lesson learned . You guys just don't remember me but I have been picking your brains for the last few years before I jumped into scale. The judges helped me figure out what kind of documentation I needed so hopefully next time I enter a contest I won't be handing them hand written documents. But it was a great time and I really enjoyed meeting everyone. The tent and flight box was a great idea. The Jamboree has me energized again yet I dread the thought of starting another one of these but I know I will.

I just had to add my comments also. It was great to be able to judge you guys at both the Nats and IRCHA. All the flying was great which made our job harder(better). I enjoyed talking to everyone and it was great to have everyone in the big tent and having the flying spot so close to center stage. I hope the many will come back next year and hope to see many new faces. There is some talk on other thread about having the Heli Nats the same time as IRCHA, What do you all think ? I am for it myself, have the Nats starting on Mon and going to Thurs, then the Jamboree ? would have to take one week to attend both. Come on make your opinions known. Again thanks to all who attend ,fly and do the things to make it happen. Keep flying, Dave
P.s. see you all same time next year :-)

Hello everyone, just wanted to say thanks again for a wonderful year, my family and I had a great time. Congrats to everyone in the scale contest, and special thanks to Darrel, Peter, and Craig for organizing a wonderful event. And thanks to the judges for taking the time to judge the helicopters. The scale tent, and flying spot was superb, I know it made me want to fly more. As always, great people, great time, great memories. See everyone same time next year. - Adam

What a great event. I finally made it to Ircha and it was awesome. My Bell 47G was built by looking at various pictures of different full size Bell 47s. Now I now better.

I learned a lot about Scale Competitions by participating this year at Ircha, and now I have a better idea of how it's done.

Thank you to all the judges and scale crew for guiding me, and the two guys that called for me on my test. I'm sorry, but I don't remember your names.

I would like to thank all the Ircha organizers for a great job! Thank you Runryder for covering this huge event.

More Video???
Super-Hornet, I know that there was a LOT of video being shot of the scale and I am sure that you will see more here on RR as they get them completed....
Also SKS is going to have a "BUNCH" of the scale units flying on their new DVD when it is released, so that might be something that you want to look into once it becomes available... about 4-5 more weeks from what they told me... I pre-ordered it at the show!!!!
Between RR and SKS, and the many "mags", it seemed anywhere you looked during the entire event, someone was filming, shooting, or interviewing someone... all of these people worked there "ends" off.... they deserve a big THANK YOU for bringing us the event and/ or the memories!!!!!......
