Old thread but "What the hell" I'm getting a Blade CP pro 2 I farted around with the original Blade CP and CP pro years ago, recently bought a Blade SR but didn't like it-- sold it on FleeBay.

So anywho, anyone still flying the Blade CP, CP pro or CP pro 2 ? share any tips or likes or dislikes or experiences if you so desire

Holy Cow
All we need is Tutlar to chime in and I'll swear I've lost two years of precious life.

Yah, it's been so long, I'm now retired with nothing to do but fly my little Bladezilla. . . .

Still got em'(three of them) but haven't flown them lately. My buddy flies his cp pro often and loves it still. We see Jose (dieselracer)several times a year in So Cal but not much of Manuel lately. The Campos Bros have been mainly responsible for getting the most out of these little screamers. For tips refer to their previous posts. They have always been very generous with info and very gracious guys on top of it. I miss the dialogues. Nice to see you around Mitch! The Esky forum is really quiet isn't it Doug? Lots of new folks there.

Love that video diesel !! The tail motor is "screaming for mercy"but it holds the tail really well.

I'm going to leave mine stock for as long as I can and try to save up for the Neu motor combo, might be awhlie. I got 6 - 1000mah Turnigy's which should work really good in the bird.

Hey Mitch, good to see you still check in once and while ! You liking retirement ?

Yep, alot more guys post on the Freak Esky sub-forums but I just happen to like RR better. HeliDirect keeps selling out of King 3's and CP3's so there are guys flying them somewhere.

Hi Guys! I figured I'd chime in just to keep this CP love going. I still have my brushless Pro with a now rare Medusa tail motor. I still love it, flying, crashing, and fixing my wooden blades. Really, all Eflite ever had to do was put bushless motors on it along with a good gyro, and it would be a great heli out of the box. Happy Flying!

stupid gravity......

a great heli out of the box indeed... but it would be too costly to produce to be a profitable product that they could actually sell. These performance blades with bl separates have been around a long time now; there's kind of a core group of guys who can appreciate them and don't mind spending at least $400 or more on one. I confess that I'm am member of that cult.

Well, last weekend I flew the Blade cp pro 2 and liked the nimbleness of the lil bastard However felt the stock brushed main motor was O.K. but bogged too much so I took it out and put in an old HDX 3800 outrunner with a ten tooth pinion and the power was much better.

Removed the stock 2 in 1 controller and installed an Eflite 25 amper from a Blade 400 for the main motor ,a GWS 300 brushed ESC to drive the tail with an old Gaui gyro from a 200. Worked really good for about 6 flights till the stinkin tail motor burnt out-- Again I used to have better luck with the tail motors back in the day-- not sure whats different now, I'm using heatsinks, but anywho, I decided no more brushed tail motors. Bought a Tonic-X 4850 KV outrunner brushless designed for a main motor on a firefox or pizyZap or EP 100 micro heli. At 14.95 I figured it was worth a shot. Well got it in the mail today and modified the tail bracket to mount the motor and drilled out the stock tailblade adapter to 2.3 mm for the motor shaft.

To make a long story short(too late I know) I fired it up in the basement and hovered a battery and it held really well without even getting luke warm ! The real test will be this weekend with some flips and inverted to really see how well it performs!

I'll try and get some vid of the P.O.S this weekend

I've been sayin' for years now that a tail motor that is made to pull rather than push will also cool the motor. I've maybe burned up only one brushed and no brushless motors running them that way. Remember me recommending that set-up Doug?

Hi sween, Glad your still flyin !!! It appears Diesels and buildems Neu proton motor and Futaba 401 are the best combo so far but I'll be fartin around with some possible "cheaper" alternatives just cause of a tight heli budget. I'll let ya know my findings after this weekends flying trials.

Well, went flying this morning and am very pleased with the micro outrunner for the tail. Using a 5 x 5 GWS prop and the motor didn't even get warm and held the tail really well. I'll take a video tommorrow (if Danny shows up).

Well sween, I soldered two ESC's together to one Deans connector and cut the red wire from the ESC that powers the tail motor. Plugged the tail motor ESC into the gyro and then plugged the gyro lead into the Rudder or ch. 4 on the stock receiver. Have to move the rudder stick a little to the left to initialize the tail motor ESC but it is worth the effort. Hope my post makes sense.

Fourth test flight with the 15 dollar Tonic-X tail motor, I like it so far. I am also using those "Fake" carbon matrix printed Ebay cheapo main blades that someone on the "Freak" sent me cause he didn't trust them. You really don't have to spend tons of dollars to fly, but you do have to take the time to learn to fly--- Chicken or the Egg
