It's 4am and I've got my OS 50 baking in the oven getting ready to replace the bearings... Got the new piston and ring on the piston rod, all ready to re-assemble the engine...

Couldn't sleep, too much to do to get ready for the long weekend... I've still got to go over the new Vision 50, gonna pull it all apart, reloctite as if it was new... want to pull apart the align 50 thats on it too and have a look inside....

I also ordered all my parts last night to fix the 50 and 90... as well as whole new kits, just so I have a spare of everything... now I just have to resist the temptation to build the kits and go buy all the electronics for them

I was hoping to pick up a new VBar and a Skookum 720 this month, but thats gonna have to wait another month now....

Oh well, time to go pull the engine out of the oven and bang it on the table a few times, see if the bearings fall out....

Busy night.... couldn't sleep...

Got the bearings replaced and installed a new piston and ring in the OS/50 so it's just like a brand new engine....

Painted 3 canopies, a Frenzy 50, the Vision 50, and a new Raptor 50 canopy I picked up last night...

I'll post pics once I get all the heli's back together and lined up at the field, all with the same color scheme on the canopies...

Guess I should have a short nap now, then off to work

Man Odam, you must be on a roll! How do you like the turnigy servo's so far? I know you really didn't get much of a chance to give them a real test, but what's your initial reaction of them?Bald Pilots usually wear hats!

It sounds like you'll have a heck of a fleet! The guys around me told me to fly one heli, until i have more experience! Problem is, when something happens to that one, I don't have anything to fly until i fix it! So I end up fixing a couple at a time!! I hope its not too windy this weekend!

Oh on the gyro thing, I have a 601 and 611 in my heli's so they are good gyro's, I may need to put some expo in the rudder and see if that helps.

My initial reaction on the servos is I like em... I ordered another set last night for the Vision 50 but got the 2S (7.2v) versions this time, since as it was pointed out to me at the field, you can't use a 3S with the Spektrum receivers anyhow....

I'm getting tired of stripping servo gears in my 9252's! Its always the same gear and you can't just buy that gear, you have to have the whole set for 8 or 9 dollars!Bald Pilots usually wear hats!

Summer is here!

Wow, what a beautiful day today.... It was hot out, although windy, but we're used to that now...

I took some planes and the Raptor and 2 450's and had a blast, cept for the Raptor... The gov (gv1) wasn't working, it wasn't coming on at all. I tried to set it up but didnt have instructions with me, and I couldnt get it to switch to the three flight modes, so I didn't fly it. When I got home, it turned out to be a radio setting... somehow my gear channel was set to follow the rudder d/r switch, and when I it back to gear, suddenly Aux 2 worked off the flight mode switch, so all is well now, tomorrow is gonna be another fantastic day.

I couldn't get the ElyQ Vision 50 set up to fly for today because the three rods from the servos to the swash were missing, and I had no idea how long they should be, but I found a manual online today, and turns out my old Voyager E has rods the same length used for the flybar cage, so I used those two and made up another one, and now I'm setting up the vision for tomorrow... looking forward to flying it, but I don't think it will become my primary machine, it has a cheap look/feel to it so far...

Well it has been beautiful the last two days here. 80 plus degrees and of course 20 mph winds. So no flying for me. Hey Odam did you ever figure out how your tail pulley came off your frenzy. Early this week I put the frenzy in. Come to find out that little pin that holds the pulley on the shaft came out. Man did that suck.Carpe Diem!!!

On mine, it looks like the pin either sheared off, or broke and slid out, because I can see the pin flush on one side, and sticking out the other... I actually found the pulley on the grass after the crash... Lemme see if I can get a picture...

Yep, that may be true... I never thought of it being my lucky day, he he

Not only did I total the Vision 50, but I crashed both 450's, one was dumb thumb while inverted, the other stripped a gear in flight, no damage other than the main gear though, I hit Throttle Hold and she just fell out of the sky and landed softly in the grass...

Then I crashed my 63" ME-109 when the engine stalled out as I turned downwind (and it was really windy) and that thing just sank like a rock... just minor damage, it's all fixed now....

I guess it makes up for Friday when I had a full day with no crashes...

We'll see how tomorrow goes

Well, on a positive note, the electronics, engine, etc out of the Vision 50 will now go into the "spare" Frenzy 50 kit I ordered, so I'll have 2 frenzy 50's and the 90...

I flew the raptor again today... I don't like it any more, but thats more likely because I took my good servos out and put some cheap ones in it... I can't wait till all my parts come in

I landed my ME-109 short of the runway today in strong gusty wind, and the wheels caught in the longer rough grass, and slammed the nose down, shattering the fuselage of the place... its a big plane too, 63" wing span.... So now I have to rebuild that... at least I have the balsa to do that, and the covering...

My little 450 flybarless heli flew way better than the Rappy50 flybar'd heli today in the wind... it was blowing 30km/h gusting all over the place....

Man, been a rough week for flying by the sounds of it. I've put a couple in myself! I still have to figure out why the tail shakes on my frenzy 50. It doesn't shake all the time just when I give it pos pitch!
I got my parts from HC on Saturday, so it only took about 7 days! Not bad considering the distance.
Odam, I hope you your parts come soon and the wind eases up some!
