Hey, I'm back...

The weather has been good for flying, but I've been busy at work

Now that that's over, the weather is taking a turn for the worst... rain and wind in the forecast for the next while...

But, the good news is, my TZ 90 and servos left china last night (finally). I have everything else here waiting... My Radix blades, and receiver sat in customs here for a whole week, I sure hope that doesn't happen with this order...

My order with the parts to fix my 50 has been dispatched from the warehouse, hope it ships soon...

So, my YouTube channel has been getting new subscribers recently.... all religious fanatics by the looks of it.... I guess thats because I had JESUS bolt in the tags of the video where the head flies off the Raptor... had to remove the tag, hope it helps...

Its been nice and warm here, and very little rain, but the snow sure has melted! I've just been too beat to fly the last couple of days. I am going to go out in front and burn a battery or two today though. I just painted another canopy for my 600E, one side looks alright but i messed up on the other side, so I guess I have to keep circling in one direction so I don't see it! LOL!!

Today was the last of the sunshine... tonight the rain starts...

They just posted a notice that they have closed our flying field due to the soggy conditions, at least till sometime next week...

In a sense, that's good, cause it means we're close to the nice warm flying weather now! and the clocks change this weekend, so starting next week there will be plenty of time for flying after work

WooHoo!

Sonny, what do you use for the last coat on your canopies? Do you paint the ones on your nitro birds? does the paint hold up?

Hey Odam, I use an automotive clear coat on the heli's. It holds up pretty good. The hobby shop sells some also, but it says it holds up to 15% nitro. I use 30. I wonder if that Magnum DS30 is hard on paint? I noticed after the first paint job I did that the paint was soft after flying so I went with the automotive clear and it seems to hold up.
We had a real soaking rain last night, its the kind to take out the frost! Hopefully we get some drying temps soon to dry up the fields! Probably have to hijack some parking lots someplace and not crash in the nearby fields!

Yep, gonna be the same here... Our Heli field won't open till sometime in aprill because of the water

Well, my parts to fix my .50 were shipped this morning, so hopefully by the time the weather clears up next week I'll have it fixed and ready to go, and maybe even have the 90 ready

Went out to fly today, man with the wind it sure felt cold! Had a good time and all heli's came home in one piece! Did no one else fly in this miserable weather? We slipped down the page quite a bit!

No flying this weekend...

Weather should improve this week, and maybe even get some flying in after work since it's light later now.

I'm playing the waiting game now with customs... my new .90 and the parts to fix my .50 are sitting there... my last package sat in customs for a week

The weather is getting better, it's light longer, soon we'll be flying in shorts again and complaining about how hot it is... I can't wait!

Hopefully not Sonny. You'll have a lot more fuel to burn this year. Seeing as how your getting into Forward Flight it should burn it a lot faster. Or at least it will seem like it.

Carpe Diem!!!

The parts arrived today to fix my .50! WooHoo!

Unfortunately, my .90 is still sitting in customs

What a beautiful day here today, I was out at lunch time flying my 450 in a huge empty parking lot around the corner from my office, it was perfect. Nice and warm and barely any wind... Debating whether to stop and fly on my way home, or get right home and fix the .50... tomorrow is supposed to be another beautiful day, would be nice to have the .50 fixed and maybe get a couple tanks in after work...

Wow, that was a fast easy fix... The gear on the bottom of the shaft that drives the belt was stripped, the one that meshes with the bottom main gear... I just bought a whole assembly with the two bearing supports, the shaft, bearings, gear and pully all in one assembly. My fear was that like most helicopters, I'd have to open up the frame to get the piece out, but no, 8 little bolts and the whole assembly slid right up and out of the frames, and the new one in, and that was it! I love this thing... it's easier to fix than a 450! I replaced the mixing arms, and its all set to go, main shaft and feathering shaft were fine...

Maybe try to get a test hover at lunch tomorrow...

Yeah Odam, I know what you mean. My buddy and i went out at 11:30 and stopped about 5pm. Just took our time and sat in the sun and flew flew flew! I just got back in now from flying again! I am really liking that Frenzy. Its the only one i flew today. I felt a little jittery today and didn't push it. I just flew some circuits and did a couple flips. I just had a feeling if I did any more, I might crash! I really need to fly fly fly and get comfortable with it. I put the metal swash on it while i had the head off it and after that I needed to snip the head linkage as it needed to be short to get zero pitch at half stick. I don't understand how that would have changed from one swash to the other. I hope you got out today to fly! Another beauty of a day here!

I got out and flew the 450 at lunch, well, very briefly... I had a battery in it that's about seen it;s day I think... It was pretty windy, and I was doing some flips, and flying inverted, when it just didn't have enough power to climb out of a low flip and went in... now that I think about it, all my batteries are getting old, perhaps its time to replace them all. My tail always seems to let go on me when I use a lot of power, and that makes sense if the batteries just aren;t up to it...

I think thats why I love the nitro's so much these days, the power is always there

Yep, I'm with ya there! Nitro's all the way! I have a 600E as well, and I just like flying the nitro powered better. I hate messing with batteries. I think I have a great way to clean the nitro heli at the field and hope to field test it tomorrow. I'll let ya know how it works out.

All this sunny weather and our fields are closed... might open the airplane club field for the day on friday, but its gonna rain again on the weekend, so it will just be for one day.... I hope I get a chance to go fly... it will be cloudy, but no rain, and it will be warm

My .90 is STILL in customs... been there since last friday... If they don't release it tonight, then I won't get it till next week It sure would make a nice rainy weekend project for this weekend
