I've not heard of anyone doing that yet, funny thing is, all the promo videos show it in a 450 as well... Maybe down the road, once I trust it, I might give it a shot on a 500, then maybe a 50

I think fma has a program called Co Pilot that will work on a 50 sized for sure. Have not seen it though.

Went home at lunch time, grabbed the frenzy, off to the local park, had a heck of a time getting it started, got it warmed up, and had to shut down and come back to work Didn't even get off the ground....

Maybe tomorrow....

Hey Sonny, if Phil has not bought a motor for that guai tell him he needs to buy the Scorpion 3026-1400 or 3026-1600. He won't regret it. This thing has tons of power. Feels like more power than my 50 does. Its a happy heli now.

Carpe Diem!!!

<sigh>

Ok, back out at lunch time, I'm still trying to maiden this TZ50...

I got it running, this is the OS50 that I put new bearings in last fall, and then put it away as a spare.... Anyhow, got it running nicely, spun it up, and the heli just wanted to spin.... so I stopped it, checked my rudder stick direction, it was ok, checked the gyro direction, it was ok....

The "center" was off a bit, so I popped off the linkage, resized it, ok, now its perfectly centered...

Spun up, and it just wants to spin, fast.... It's just like the gyro is reversed, but I know its not....

Ok, I give up, spool it down, and as I'm swinging the blades together, and around to the back to put the foam blade caddy on, I notice the tail rotor is spinning the wrong way! ARGH!

You'd think after all the heli's I've built and rebuilt in a year and a half that I would get the belt on properly.... oh well... there's always tomorrow...

Hey Chris, glad to hear you got it going now! Phil got a Neu motor I believe. He just picked up a gyro last weekend so I think he is about good to go! Just a mater of putting it all together.
Where did you guys run all your wires on your TZ's. Inside or outside the frame?

Cool, I'll do that. Inside is always better unless they interfere mechanically. That is a nice review they did on ATTF! I really haven't seen a bad review yet on the TZ. I fly the 450 outside over the lake at my mom's the last couple of days. Its kind of hard to see when it gets mixed up with all the white! "Snowblind" But, Oh yeah baby! No crashes!

Here's the 450 outside with the Flymentor on it. I even holds a hover inverted, pretty cool. It also righted the heli after aborted flips etc.

Well Aaron the lakes frozen so i felt better about it. But, you've all hear the tales about how he and she went riding into the sunset! Well, don't try flying a 450 into the sunset over a frozen lake! You'll surely lose it! It wasn't all that bad a crash, but a crash no less! I'm going back home tomorrow! Its been a long week!

I got the Frenzy in the air tonight....

I took the header tank off, it kept flooding the engine and it was impossible to start. I kept having to pull the plug out, and spin up the starter to blow out all the excess fuel. Now that the header tank is gone, it starts without being locked up.

I'll get some more air time tomorrow, maybe even get the MultiGov hooked up.

If you're heli ever gets into the sun, try closing one eye, and fly it out, and then open the other eye, you should be able to see... I've done that a few times, although not in a sunset... you're already practically on the ground at that point....

At least the ice was thick enough to hold you to go out and get the pieces...

hey odam2k i'm glad you got your frenzy going. until recently i had a heck of a time keeping mine from flooding as well. recently i leaned out the bottom end quite a bit and i have no troubles now. does she spit and sputter when she idles? also don't undo your fuel clip until right before you start her. now i have my header tank and she starts no problem. you're gonna love that heli. plus when you crash it's cheap enough to just buy another airframe and have lots of extra parts. happy flying guys.

fly it like you stole it
