If you are ordering anything from HC, they sell long extention wires for the remote receivers... very cheap too... is it just the wire thats bad? if so, email me your address and I'll pop one in the mail for you tomorrow...

Yeah, its the original HK500, plastic... I replaced the head with the metal one, and have the metal tail coming.... now I have to order the metal tail boom holder I did notice that even the HK500GT (metal version) comes with a plastic tail holder...

This is the same 500 I bought ages ago, first flight, the ESC and Motor melted.... Second flight the Motor melted.... Third flight with my new Hacker Motor/ESC it barely hovered due to a much lower KV on the motor, and landing cracked the tail casing.... Tonight was the 4th attempt, I put a 17T pinion in it, those are hard to find Headspeed was awesome, but the boom kept slipping and loosening the belt One day I'm sure I will get to fly it.... he he

It don't sound like that 500 has been very nice to you!
I saw that hdx also has one now and it looked pretty good. But
you never know until you see one at the field.

I've talked to others here at our field who are very happy with their HK500's so I'll keep trying I do like the GT version better though, I'll probably order one of those and replace this one...

I'm excited, I may get to try the TZ v@ 50 this afternoon

Not yet... I need to go out and just hover to get it tuned, then I will config the MultiGovPro. Once I see how it flies with a flybar, then I'll put the SK360 on it, or maybe order something else to go fbl, not sure yet...

darn sonny i must have missed that memo but if ya dont practice its will never be perfect. i will say doing autos is some what addicting though that just happened to be my first damaged heli this year. really hate it when i hurt the blades though at 110.00 a set it hurts.
think i need to start buying alot of spares for the spring time lots of spares. hope your all having fun flying.

Oh Yeah Baby!!!!! Those blades are expensive, and I sure went through a bunch of them last season, I used mostly fiber glass ones, but soon found out that the carbon fibers do last longer. But people have told me to use woodies until i start to do 3d stuff, have you any pro's or con's on that?

Not yet My diabetes has kept me from flying lately other than the 450's on my lunch hour... I was at the doctors today, and start on insulin tonight, so hopefully that will get me back in the zone and flying again...

Speaking of blades, I bought a set of CY Stickbangers for the Raptor 50, $120, and after 4 minutes of use, I crashed and destroyed them That was over the summer... I decided then that I would not spend that much money on blades again.... I bought a cheap set of TIG blades from HC, and immediately noticed the difference, so I went and bought a set of MAH blades. I've been flying them every since, and really like them.

This month I ordered two sets of MAH G2 600mm blades from MAH, and just picked up a set of Align 600mm CF blades, and a pair of Stickbangers as well in a package of used stuff... So I'm all set for blades now....

Hoping tomorrow is the TZ's maiden flight.... The weather looks fantastic for the entire weekend!

sonny nthe pros of wood blades is the cost the cons is the flex.
on my 500 i was flying the cheap helidirect 3d blades for most of the summer then stepped up to a set of radix blades and what a differance. in flight performance and cots as i can buy 3 sets of 3d blades for the price of one set of radix blades. but thay do fly like a dream but i want to try some rotor tecs on the 500 as that is all i will fly on the big helis and yes thay are expensive and i have lost 3 sets this last year but thay are worth it..
you can go to radix and buy cosmeticaly flawed blades for abought 25% off store or map pricing and thay fly great.

Good news and bad news...

The Flymentor works great!

Watch at YouTube

The bad news is I didn't get to fly the TZ

I had vapor lock and the fan spun up on the clutch, so I have to fix that, and may try again tomorrow...

Hey Odam, what did you use to glue the magnets on?

How much testing were you able to do with that flight system.

Magnets? for the MultiGov? I used epoxy, and just put one magnet on. They are so tiny, and apparently not heavy enough that you need two...

I didn't do much more that you saw in the video... I was able to push the right stick fully in any direction and let it spring back, and the heli did correct itself quite quickly... I think it needs to be warmer outside to use it, as when I took it out in the cold yesterday morning, the servos chattered pretty bad... (shivering? he he)
